I
was unable to watch any basketball last weekend; a couple automobile hiccups while putting my mom and sister up Friday and Saturday evenings made sure my load was firmly managed. Thankfully, a distinctly busy week of basketball did most of the job for me.
Offers, offers, offers. . .
[player_tooltip player_id="745358" first="Dalante" last="Shannon"].Tulsa Central’s Caylen Goff-Brown Caylen Goff-Brown 6'2" | PG Tulsa Central | 2022 State OK announced Tuesday his first Division-I offer, placed by in-state Oral Roberts. Thursday, Edmond North’s Dalante Shannon Dalante Shannon 6'2" | CG Edmond North | 2021 State OK followed suit with a lob from West Point, making him the tenth player in the Oklahoma ’21 class to receive a D-I offer. Altogether, eleven players in the Sooner State hold at least one offer to a D-I school — the most I can remember at any one time since I’ve been on the beat. Shannon’s favorite post, Edmond North senior Abraham Aghasedo Abraham Aghasedo 6'8" | C Edmond North | 2021 State OK received his first offer from Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sunday, and Kingfisher’s Matthew Stone Matthew Stone 6'4" | SF Kingfisher | 2021 State OK also received his sixth D-I offer to North Texas on Friday. Believe it or not, I actually did not receive any Division-I offers to play college basketball out of high school.
Big Hart. . .
If you’re a local hoops junkie in the OKC-area, you may remember a kid named Christian Cook Christian Cook 6'2" | SG Midwest City | 2020 State OK from Midwest City who dunked about twice every quarter. If you were an admirer of his game, you’re in luck, because his brother is officially flushing in the half-court. That’s right, Midwest City’s Israel Hart Israel Hart 6'3" | PG Midwest City | 2021 State OK recorded his first in-game dunk Saturday at The Hive. Here’s the video:

While we’re on the topic of Hart, his trajectory has been outstanding so far this summer. His stock has boosted tremendously, and he may become a highly-touted prospect before it’s all said and done.
He’s from where? Rural prospect spotlight. . .
Caleb Miller, a ’21 small forward from Stratford, has a few striking features to his game. A glance at his highlight reel would give you a brief scope into his versatile game. First, he has cunning athleticism and a 6-foot-4-inch frame. Second, his crafty scoring attack culminates with his propensities for the art of the guard and the forward to make him a difficult player to handle. Offensively, he passes the ball exceptionally well with on-ball-material vision and awareness. He uses his passing capabilities either in the full-or-half-court, but they are most productive in the half. His play at the perimeter is impressive, and he has a number of tricks to produce — whether he takes the ball to the hole, spins for the kick-out or pulls the shot from mid-range, his array of skills often prove valuable to him. He can also shoot the ball well and has the handles to get separation. At the rack, he’s a talented finisher who can get the job done with either hand, but doesn’t shy away from contact, either.
Letter to readers. . .
