These are players that all collegiate coaches, and hoops fans need to make a priority to check out next season. I would also highly recommend their hudl highlights. These young men have talents that will stretch far beyond the Nebraska borders but will be a treat to watch this next season.
Kwat Abdelkarim Kwat Abdelkarim 6'3" | CG Lincoln Northstar | 2021 State NE 6’3 Lincoln North Star- Abdelkarim can really do it all on the basketball court. He is a smooth lefty who will outhustle anyone in a game. He uses his frame really well and has excellent ball-handling skills. You won’t watch a game featuring Abdelkarim without seeing him cross a few people and knock down a couple 3’s with that silky smooth left-handed stroke. You will also often see Abdelkarim being the first one to dive on the floor to get a loose ball. This is another one of the top prospects in the state of Nebraska and I would put this senior up against anyone from out of state as well.
17.3 PPG 3.5 A/PG 3.2 Reb/G
Pierce Bazil 6’3 Lincoln Northeast- Bazil is a guy with unlimited range on the basketball court, and is often seen pulling it from places others could only dream of. He is a complete bucket getter and scored over 20 points on twelve different occasions last season for the Rockets, including a 36 point effort against Norfolk. Bazil is one of the best offensive players in Nebraska and will have a huge senior year.
18.6 PPG 1.9 Assists 2.9 Rebounds
Sam Hoiberg Sam Hoiberg 6'0" | PG Lincoln Pius X | 2021 State NE Lincoln Pius- Hoiberg is one of the most fun guards to watch in Nebraska. He has a great combination of speed, power, and vision. Hoiberg can easily get to the rim against most defenders and if anyone decides to help Hoiberg will find the open player with ease. This kid can finish through contact and shows a tremendous amount of toughness each time he steps on the floor. Hoiberg also demonstrates that deep range that coaches love so much. He is as solid a guard as you will see.
14.4 PPG 3.5 APG 4.5 RPG
Connor Renard Connor Renard 6'7" | C Lincoln Northeast | 2021 State NE 6’7 Lincoln Northeast- At 6’7 Renhard moves very well and is very skilled. When watching Renard you can tell he has a passion for blocking shots and getting rebounds. However, make no mistake Renard can get it done on the offensive end as well. Look for Renard to easily crack double digits on average during his senior campaign.
8.2 PPG 5.5 Reb/G 1.2 BPG
Josh Brown Josh Brown 6'0" | CG Lincoln North Star | 2021 State NE 6’1 Lincoln North Star- Brown was often seen guarding the best player for the Gators last season and still averaged double digits for the North Star. Brown plays with a confidence that most wish we had and that coaches love. Brown was near 40% from 3 point range and will look to continue to build upon that success in his senior campaign.
11.2 PPG 2.0 A/G 5.0 Reb/G 1.5 Steals/G
Charlie Hoiberg Charlie Hoiberg 6'0" | CG Lincoln Pius X | 2021 State NE Lincoln Pius- Hoiberg shot 42% from downtown last season for the Thunderbolts so make no mistake this kid can flat out shoot the ball. Hoiberg also is very fundamentally sound with great ball handling and court vision. He has a great ability to find open spaces in the half-court to set up his offense. Look for Hoiberg to have even better stats next season as a senior.
8.5 PPG 1.6 Steals/G
