May or may not get the opportunity to showcase their talents this summer in front of college coaches, scouts, and evaluators, since we aren’t playing basketball in this NorCal Area. Here’s a list of rising prospects C/O 2022, in Santa Clara County to keep an eye on.
Isaiah Kerr Isaiah Kerr 6'2" | CG St. Francis | 2022 State CA-N 6’2 Combo Guard, St. Francis HS (Mountain View, CA)
Kerr established himself as a top play maker with his performance throughout the season in the tough WCAL. A wiry prospect who continues to build strength is a calm and steady performer who doesn’t get rattled when the games get tight. He’s proven he can handle the point guard position. His handles and vision, along with solid passing seemed to settle a young team with a good returning core. His ability to attack from the wings shows his versatility as a player. Wright’s Player to Watch list.
Aidan Braccia 6’1 Point Guard, Sacred Heart Prep (Atherton, CA)
Braccia has established himself as a must see prospect in this county. He raised his game when it counted most, while SHP was making a run in the play-offs. Braccia stood out as the most consistent and well rounded player on the court. a tough competitor who gets after it on both ends of the court. A feisty defender always in good help position, and will make opponents work for buckets. He has good range and a quality jumper he can knock down with a hand in his face.
Harlan Banks Harlan Banks 6'3" | CG Saint Francis | 2022 State CA-N 6’3 Guard St. Francis HS (Mountain View, CA)
Banks surprised with his ability to defend multiple positions. He has good speed, strength, along with lateral movement. I have him as one of the better defenders in the county. He’s kind of a sleeper on offense, but his skills are developing rapidly. He has a good balance, and strength on the drive to the basket, he can hit the jumper in the key. He’s a good rebounding guard with good hops who’ll battle with the bigs for rebounds
Nico Augusta 6’2 Guard Los Altos HS, (Los Altos, CA)
Augusta a thin wiry prospect who needs to add some muscle to his frame, nevertheless a quality player who works best on the wings slashing, and cutting to the basket. He has solid handles, and a good first step, with the ability to maneuver his way inside without much space from the wings, and corner. An active player on defense, always in good position and has good instincts.
Garret Keyhani 6’7 Guard/Forward Menlo HS (Atherton, CA)
Keyhani is expected to emerge as player to watch in the county. He has a good size frame at 6’7 with more growth on the way. He has a good skill set. He has the potential to be a player who can score points in different ways. Good size, and footwork to be an effective scorer in the post, range to knock down 3’s, and handles the ball well enough to put it on the floor and take it to the rim. Keyhani does a good job handling the ball, and seeing up the court in transition.
Vince Barringer Vince Barringer 6'7" | PF St. Francis | 2022 State CA-N 6’7 Forward, St. Francis HS (Mountain View, CA)
Barringer a good spot up shooter from the wings and in the corner has to be accounted for. He’s been working on his ball handling skills, and attacking the basket from the wings. He’s shown he can be an effective player at the high post area, with his ability to hit the 3 at the top, stick the elbow jumper, and attack with one dribble going to the rim. He’s on Wright’s watch list.
Emmer Nichols 6’5 Wing/Forward, Sacred Heart Prep HS ( Atherton, CA)
Nichols a tough minded competitor. I put him in the glue guy club. A solid all around prospect that should spend more time on the court rather than the bench. Nichols work doesn’t show up in the stats, but he has an improving skill set, he’s a strong driver to the rim. A decent mid-range jumper, and does good work inside. He battle for rebounds, a solid passer, and doesn’t give up on defense.
