Zane Alm of Mitchell (6’8 C, 2021). Zane is a guy we’ve had our eye on as potentially blowing up the charts and getting his name on the radar of college coaches. This weekend with about five buckets and 6-7 rebounds each game Zane began showing some of that consistent low post production schools are hoping to see.
Carter Comes of Waverly/South Shore (6’7 C, 2022). This young man seems to be coming along as a consistent rebounder, shot blocker, and shot contesting center. Teams often didn’t want to go near the rim when Carter was contesting. Comes had a couple big rebounding games, had about 9-10 blocks this weekend, and finished in double digits on a balanced team.
Tyler Feldkamp of SF Roosevelt (5’11 PG, 2021). Tyler led the Schoolers in scoring for the weekend playing as the team’s top guy as was expected. Showed off a different level of speed pressuring the basketball and jumping passing lanes. Held court as a top guy in the gym is expected to. His team went 3-0.
Eddie Meylor of SF O’Gorman (6’6 PF, 2021). This spring we watched several games to get deeper into the talent that South Dakota has. Eddie Meylor is a player that grabbed our interest and this weekend he gave his team a 2nd-3rd option of consistency finishing at the rim with quality percentages.
Hayden Ruesink of Sioux Valley (6’3 Forward, 2022). Who did we come away with thinking “wow is he underrated?” That would be Hayden. This young man played with activity that grabbed the attention of many and averaged in double digits throughout the weekend.
Joe Sayler of White River (6’1 SG, 2023). When it comes to explosive scoring on several levels it was Joe Sayler who was best in show. I believe the numbers we were handed said that Sayler averaged 21 points a game for the weekend. It is so rare that in AAU basketball a player is able to produce those numbers because you have to put those numbers on limited shot attempts. Sayler even had a 30 point game.
Oliver Vincent of Sioux Valley (5’10 PG, 2023). When it comes to versatility, Oli Vincent takes home the weekend trophy. His team also brought home a 4-0 record. Vincent consistently shows that he is a top rebounding guard plus put in an attacking, playmaking role Vincent produced an impressive 18 points a game for the weekend.
