2022 Players to Watch in OC (I)
Jake Heberle Jake Heberle 6'4" | SF Santa Margarita | 2022 State CA-S , Santa Margarita – Heberle is a glue-type guy for the Eagles who had his hands in every statistical category en route to a first-team Trinity League selection. The 6-foot-4 wing is a solid on-ball and team defender who can score off of slashes and finishes as well as initiate offense when needed with his ball skills.
Kristian Jemerson Kristian Jemerson 6'4" | SF Fairmont Prep | 2022 State CA-S , Fairmont Prep – Jemerson had some good moments for the Huskies during his sophomore season as the wiry 6-foot-3 shooting guard showed he can score both inside and out. Jemerson can knock down the open catch-and-shoot three-point shot in addition to taking advantage of driving lanes with his long strides and finishing ability.
Nygle Williams, Woodbridge – Williams just missed our rankings and it’s because of the small sample size of evaluation time we got on him, but the 6-foot-8 forward has some intriguing potential. Williams is an instinctive shot blocker and good rebounder who is mobile when running the floor in transition. He has a ways to go offensively, but has good hands and interior footwork.
Bence Duka, Capistrano Valley Christian – Duka is skilled true post player with a versatile back-to-the-basket scoring arsenal. The 6-foot-8 forward/center has soft touch with either hand around the rim and has flashed some hook shots when rolling across the lane. His soft hands and good footwork are good early tools for a young big man.
Pablo Magallanes Pablo Magallanes 6'7" | SF Tustin | 2022 State CA-S , Orangewood Academy – The physical 6-foot-3 wing is best in transition where he can use his strength to absorb and finish through contact. Magallanes really does a nice job of staying on balance through the initial bump, while remaining focused, and using the glass to his advantage to score.
