Teams like Sky View have not only been the at the top of their respective region but a consistent state contender. This year will be a bit different as they have graduated some talented players, but they do have some guys that can make another push this up-coming year. While almost every team in the region will be hurt by graduation there is one team that brings back talent and State Championship aspirations.
Sky View like we stated before looses one of the best players in the state last year in Mason Falslev Mason Falslev 6'1" | PG Sky View | 2020 State #228 Nation UT but they do return some height that could bother any team regardless of classification. 6’7 Bracken Shuman and 6’11 Jackson Shuman will clog up the paint on defense but they both have a unique style especially when a 6’11 kid can step out and shoot from deep. They will need to have guards step up and give them minutes to make a push in region and in the playoffs.
The team that will be a force next year is Ridgeline. They return experience, size and shooting. 6’1 SG Kaden Cox Kaden Cox 6'0" | SG Ridgeline | 2022 State UT brings back some major shooting as he is one of the best shooters in the state. He averaged 14 points a game and that number is likely to go up. Ridgeline also returns some notable size that will allow them to hold their own against anyone that has size. Ridgeline is a legit State contender.
Bear River graduates one solid back-court which leaves a lot of wholes that will need to be filled. 6’4 Jace Jacobsen will need to make a huge jump in production as he takes over a lot of the scoring load.
Logan will be the team to watch in the region as they return a solid performer in Jadin Penigar who is tough on both ends of the court. Isaac Larsen is another player that could help Logan exceed expectations. Look for Logan to surprise some teams once they find some consistent play.
Green Canyon returns with some hopes to climb the ladder in the region standings. With Cade DeBoard coming back they have an opportunity to continue to run and gun. The sophomore can score the basketball.
Mountain Crest will battle Green Canyon for seeding as Mountain Crest can only get better from a 1 win season. They will need to improve at every position to hang with some of the teams mentioned above them.
