But little did the skilled 6-foot-3, 205-pound rising junior knew what he was in for. Washington’s phone was literally ringing off the hook as coaches were pinging him left and right, some of whom came forth and offered him a scholarship.
“It caught me off guard,” Washington laughed. “But it’s a blessing. I’m taking it all in.”
Things moved quickly for Washington who started getting offers right after the switch flipped on the 15th. Eastern Washington called and offered right after midnight. Bryant had previously offered giving Washington five total – and the month isn’t even over.
The offer calls weren’t the only ones that Washington received as Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, Washington State, Colorado State, Idaho State, Montana, Portland, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine, and recently Murray State and Sam Houston State have all touched base to show interest. With my game I’ve been working on my mid-range and my leadership, focusing on that. I want to get people in the right spots with my point guard skills.”
