Joe spent his sophomore year earning North Dakota All State status averaging 21.2 points, 15 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks a game for an 18-2 team. Joe shot 51 percent from the floor and 77 percent from the foul line. Joe also took four threes a game and made 37 percent of his treys.
“The season went great as a team,” Joe said. “We finished the regular season 18-2 and I thought I grew as a player facing box and ones commonly and heavy defensive pressure.”
Next up Joe is about to play for one of the most talented 16 and Under teams in the country, the D1 Minnesota 16s. It’s something that Joe is very excited for.
“I’m definitely looking forward to getting back on the court with my guys,” Hurlburt explained. “D1 Minnesota is a really high class program that I’m proud to be apart of.”
Today Joe heard from a plethora of college basketball programs as it as the first day schools could contact kids.
“I’ve heard from Wisconsin, Virginia, Minnesota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Purdue, Utah State, Memphis, Iowa State, Oregon State, Iowa, Ohio State, Colorado, and Butler.”
One of those high majors offered Joe a scholarship today, the University of Colorado.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity,” Joe said of the Colorado offer. “The coaching staff is great and the campus is beautiful.”
