Recruiting Report: 2021 Quincy Allen
This time last year 2021 Quincy Allen Quincy Allen 6'7" | SF Maret | 2021 State #125 Nation MD blew up on the national scene and reeled in a ton of high major offers. Unfortunately for him this year, he suffered a season ending injury early on in the year which has not allowed us to evaluate him in quite some time. Now he is fully recovered and working out in the gym.
“I was hurt pretty much the whole season, I only played in two or three games so I had to have surgery on March 17th but I am fully recovered now. I am in the gym everyday working on my shooting, athleticism and ball handling.”
The injury has not slowed down his recruitment as a ton of high major programs are pursuing him.
When asked what schools are prioritizing him the hardest, he said, “Colorado, UConn, LSU, Miami, Georgetown, Louisville, Auburn and NC State.”
He discussed some of those schools with us.
Colorado: “They are right up there at the top of my list. I had a great time on the official visit there in February. I have a great relationship with the whole coaching staff. Coach Boyle sees me as an impact player from the jump.”
UConn: “I like Coach Hurley, it’s a big program that has a lot of history. I like how Hurley develops his guards. He said he likes how I would play for him on the perimeter. He feels that I would make the right type of plays for him and I like the vision he has for me.”
Miami: “Coach Larranaga texts me everyday. He likes how I am a big guard, how I make plays and how I can catch and shoot.”
LSU: “I speak to Coach Wade on the phone a lot. He loves my athleticism. He is really excited about the future I have and I particularly like the LSU playing style, Coach Wade likes to space the floor a lot.”
Georgetown: “Coach Ewing has probably been on me the longest and hardest. He gave me my first big offer so I really respect the loyalty. He is trying to rebuild the Georgetown program and get to where they were when he was playing there. I like the style of play and the coaching staff, they seem really cool.”
Louisville: “I talk on the phone with Coach Pegues, he is on me hard. He really likes my game and athleticism.”
NC State: “Coach Keatts and Coach Roberson are on me hard. I like how they get up and down the floor.” They have been on me hard since last year. I am really close with Coach Keatts, we have a close bonding relationship.”
When asked if he has a specific timeline to make a decision, he said, “As of right now I am just keeping all my options open and going with the flow. I really don’t have a specific timeline on when I want to commit but I could see myself cutting my list down after the summer.”
