We will be breaking down each conference starting with the Class of 2021 first to show college coaches who they need to be placing a value on heading into the year.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these seniors-to-be catch the attention of prospective college coaches.
Karson Sharar Karson Sharar 6'2" | SG Iowa Falls-Alden | 2021 State IA – Iowa Falls-Alden
Already on the radar of many college coaches, Iowa Falls-Alden’s Karson Sharar Karson Sharar 6'2" | SG Iowa Falls-Alden | 2021 State IA is positioned to have an incredible senior season.
Sharar ranked among the North Central Conference leaders in several categories last year, finishing the season at 23.6 points per game. He shot just under 40 percent from the field, 33 percent from deep and 77 percent at the line.
A multi-sport standout, Sharar also added 161 rebounds, 65 assists, 55 steals and 72 made three-pointers for the Cadets and head coach Michael Collison.
Andrew Formanek Andrew Formanek 6'6" | PF Clear Lake | 2021 State IA – Clear Lake
Clear Lake’s Andrew Formanek Andrew Formanek 6'6" | PF Clear Lake | 2021 State IA is one of the top big men in the area, coming off a junior season in which he averaged almost 16 points and over nine rebounds a night.
Formanek controlled the paint for the Lions, shooting 67 percent from the field and recording 51 blocked shots. He also dished out 36 assists and collected 31 steals.
Sam Fischer Sam Fischer 6'2" | PF Humboldt | 2021 State IA – Humboldt
Battling Formanek for the honor of top post player in the NCC is Humboldt’s Sam Fischer Sam Fischer 6'2" | PF Humboldt | 2021 State IA .
Fischer led the Wildcats at 13 points and 9.7 rebounds a night last year, shooting 54 percent from the field and almost 79 percent at the charity stripe.
All total, Fischer scored 288 points with 213 rebounds, 20 assists and 13 steals.
Tyler Olson Tyler Olson 6'1" | SF Webster City | 2021 State IA – Webster City
Far from just a basketball standout, Webster City’s Tyler Olson Tyler Olson 6'1" | SF Webster City | 2021 State IA is also one of the top defensive backs and pitchers in the Class of 2021.
Olson posted 12.6 points per game last season, adding 117 rebounds, 68 assists, 40 steals and even blocking 12 shots. He finished shooting better from the three-point line (47.6 percent) than the field (43.1), making 50 of 105 triple attempts.
Drew Schaeffer – St. Edmond
The history of basketball at St. Edmond is a long one, and senior-to-be Drew Schaeffer is hoping to leave his legacy this winter.
Schaeffer battled injuries to score 164 points with 70 assists, 60 rebounds and 27 steals. In 19 games, he made 26 three-pointers, shooting 34 percent from the floor and 36 percent from deep while also sinking 38 of 42 free throws.
