Head Coach Aubrey Shelton and the rest of the coaching staff has brought in an array of arsenals that will impact their lineup astronomically with versatile and athletic players who get it done on both ends of the court. After ending the season on a two-game win streak, the Loggers look to stay atop of the conference standings with the help of the newest members to the group, three of them from the home state of Washington and the other three from California.
Ajani Chappell is a JUCO transfer who played at Skagit Valley Conference playing a key role for the Cardinals. A guard who is a lockdown defender but can also get you buckets. A guard who is a junkyard type player and plays with a high motor all game long. Chappell scored 7.6 points to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
Paul Johnson Paul Johnson 6'0" | SG O'Dea | 2020 State WA comes to UPS after prepping for the powerhouse O’Dea High School. A player who can really impact the game with his ability to shoot the ball. Johnson is a blossomed leader whose confidence continues to grow. The Loggers will be stacked with players who can really shoot the ball extremely well and Johnson will add to that whether that’s catch-and-shoot or off the dribble.
The Loggers continue to recruit winners and Emani Mitchell Emani Mitchell 5'9" | PG Lakes | 2020 State WA is just that. The guard was an impactful player for the Rams throughout his high school campaign and this past season, he guided them to an undefeated league record and district championship. The scrappy guard can really push the tempo of the offensive, hurting the opposing defense with his crafty finishes around the basket or his jump shot. Mitchell is a guard who will also be a key defensive player during his time as a Loggers.
Jack Bailey is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who has proven that he can play against quality competition. A player who can really scorch the net from anywhere on the floor but is also capable of putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket. The Rancho Buena Vista standout has really developed into a great player throughout his high school campaign and for his summer team, West Coast Elite. Bailey scored 16 points and grabbed nearly 6 rebounds for the Longhorns.
Elijah Brill was an instrumental player for Valencia High School, helping them to a very successful season of a 24-6 overall record. Brill is a player with a lot of experience and knows what it takes to win. A very good defender who will be who has good instincts and feel for the game. A physical player who is not afraid of contact.
Will Mathews is a very athletic 6-foot-4 guard who brings high-level experience and skillset to UPS. A strong guard who understands the game really well. Mathews takes pride on the defensive side of the ball, using his length and versatility to cause havoc. On the offensive end, he is shifty with his handle with a quick first step, attacking defenders and finishing around the rim but also has the capabilities to use his jump shot from the midrange extending out beyond the arc.
