Today, we are taking a look at some prospects we saw this past weekend at Legacy Courts up in Lafayette for the Legacy Courts Open Run I. We will have multiple breakdowns over the coming week as we take a look at the film and our notes from the day. Here is Part I.

Max Jacobsen Max Jacobsen 6'1" | SG Harrison (WL) | 2021 State IN – 6’1 CG 2021 – Harrison (IN)
Max is coming off a tough injury and really looked good cutting and taking hits on his knee. Touch was a little off but has really stepped up and knocked a few down from deep. He’s a guy that is going to have a pretty good balance of shooting and driving and if his confidence to get in the lane in unimpaired, then he will really catch up quick here. Really an off-guard that can help on the ball but should have some pretty solid defensive capabilities in college.
Cole McDaniel Cole McDaniel 5'10" | PG New Castle | 2021 State IN – 5’9 PG 2021 – New Castle (IN)
Cole is a small lead guard who can light it up. Not going to be ultra-dynamic in how he scores the ball but does has some speed and quickness that can score when needed but also drive to kick. If given the green light, he can hit jumpers from deep pretty well and very quickly. Has no problem getting them off against length and has range beyond the arc. He’s been mixing in a floater but doesn’t have touch on it yet but down the road could be a nice weapon for him.
Drake Moore – 6’1 SG 2021 – Morristown (IN)
Drake is a tall guard with some room to develop. He is an off-guard who has some handles and creativity to get in the lane. Leans a little on his shot but has good length and could end up being valuable as a defender with some work at the next level. Like his toughness and size and for a small school program, could be a nice piece to defensively give you versatility without losing a scoring option at your guard spot.
Lucas Prewitt – 6’4 SF 2021 – Fishers (IN)
Lucas is a big wing with some shooting ability. Did most of his work as a catch-and-shoot guy. Confident from beyond the arc and willing to get it off quickly. Big enough frame that he could be an interesting take for a smaller school program that needs a 3/4 combo to play inside and out. Not a tall forward but has enough size to be a little bit of a mismatch when needed. First time seeing him so what some more viewings to see how this translates but so far, so good.
Harold Woods Harold Woods 6'3" | SF Hammond | 2021 State IN – 6’4 SF 2021 – Hammond (IN)
Harold is a big, strong wing who seemed to be more ready than most to score the ball. Jumper looked pretty solid and was able to hit a few pull-up jumpers off the dribble. Had a couple nice drives and tends to use his physical build to shield defenders. Not explosive but smooth with some speed and tempo.
Owen Dease Owen Dease 6'7" | SF Evansville Reitz | 2021 State IN – 6’7 PF 2021 – Evansville Reitz (IN)
Dease is a long, lean wing with a tremendous amount of upside. Played a little more on the perimeter focusing on his jumper. His long, lean frame is great for defensive upside when in college just needs a bit more focus there. Has the ability to get hot and rip off a ton of threes but wasn’t as locked in today.
Lane Lauderbaugh Lane Lauderbaugh 6'7" | SF South Decatur | 2021 State IN – 6’6 PF 2021 – South Decatur (IN)
Lane is a big, strong forward who has some versatility and scoring. He’s got good size at 6’6 that allowed him to matchup well with taller post players and enough strength to win some of those matchups. Mobile but not super athletic. Can come out and close on shooters a bit and could improve quickly once in a college program. Good shooter who has range and a quick release. Showed he can shoot off the catch and dribble to create space. Looks like a 3/4 combo depending upon the school and the level.
Mike Elliott Jr. Mike Elliott Jr. 6'2" | SG North Central | 2021 State IN – 6’2 SG 2021 – North Central (IN)
Mike is a big guard who really relies and excels when looking to shoot. Did still show he can drive just enough into the lane to possibly be a weapon down the road. Smooth, high release who can flip around and defend bigger wings because of his strength. Will be interesting to see how he changes over the next year and if he can quickly develop off the bounce more and expand his game. Would really send his development into overdrive.
Justin Dobbins – 6’6 PF 2021 – Indianapolis Pike (IN)
Dobbins is a big, long forward that has a motor and size to play with. He played so tough and physical at the rim while still being able to step out and stretch a bit. Loves to make contact first and isn’t super creative but just effective in the low post. Can stretch out and be force on the wing with some more work. Interesting upside that could prove once he enters college.
Jalen Clark Jalen Clark 6'0" | PG North Central | 2021 State IN – 5’11 PG 2021 – North Central (IN)
Jalen is a long, rangy guard who can play on the ball and provide a little 3-and-D ability. He’s pretty good with his overall speed and creativity in the lane. Offense-wise, he’s more built around his shooting touch from deep rather than a half-court dribble-drive game. Open floor doesn’t seem like a problem for him as his speed helps. Needs to bulk up the frame but should be able to do that pretty quickly.
