Standout guard Stevie Strong Jr Stevie Strong Jr 6'1" | PG Campus | 2021 State KS has transferred to Kickapoo High after spending the past three seasons at nearby Dora. St. Louis area power Vashon also picked up an impact transfer in guard Deshon Gilbert, who is coming to the Wolverines from Durango High in Las Vegas.
The 6’1″ Haney was the Prep Hoops Missouri Class 1 Player of the Year after leading Dora to the state championship. The Missouri State commit averaged 31 points a game in leading the Falcons to a 32-2 record. He is currently the No. 7 player in the latest Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2021 rankings. He has already scored more than 2,000 points in his career.
Haney joins a Kickapoo team that advanced to the Final Four of the Class 5 state tournament last season. He will team with standout guard and Missouri commit Yaya Keita Yaya Keita 6'9" | PF Desmet | 2021 State #210 Nation MO to form an electric backcourt, which will also include emerging senior guard Cameron Liggins Cameron Liggins 6'2" | SG Kickapoo | 2021 State MO . Haney and Brookshire were teammates during the summer grassroots season for Yanders Law.
The 6’2″ Gilbert is a UNLV commit who was the No. 6 player in the Prep Hoops Nevada Class of 2021 rankings..He is a native of St. Louis before spending the past three years in Las Vegas. He decided to spent his senior year back in St. Louis before returning to Vegas to play for the Running Rebels.
As a sophomore, Gilbert averaged 15 four rebounds, and three assists while shooting 54 percent from the field. He averaged 13 points a game as a junior in leading Durango to the state tournament. Gilbert joins a Vashon team that advanced to the Final Four of the Class 4 state tournament last season.He will team with Prep Hoops Missouri top five prospect Nicholas Kern Nicholas Kern 6'5" | SF St. Louis Vashon | 2021 State MO . Gilbert is slated to play with Brad Beal Elite 17U team during the grassroots season.
