The ECI Prospects should be one of the best teams in the Dakotas.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Carson Lamp, Deonte Martinez, Belind Alemadi, Ian Ely, Lucas Schumacher
Lamp is arguably the best guard in the state and will have a great shot to show off his scoring chops playing on this team. With four other guards who do their best work with the ball, Lamp will have a big opportunity to showcase his shooting ability on the wing.
Martinez is with ECI this summer and gives the team some juice as a slasher and man defender. He’s excellent at getting into the paint and making plays, and he’ll have a bevy of options with a talented crop of bigs and strong shooters.
Alemadi was a starter for Moorhead in his junior year and is the Minnesota flavor for this ECI group. Alemadi is a steady lead guard who makes good decisions, can knock down shots from deep and is a competitive defender.
Ely will be going into this summer with a lot to prove after struggling offensively during his junior year – and readying for a much larger role as a senior at Bismarck Century. He’s got the ability to get hot from deep and has the strength to create his own shot or for his teammates.
Schumacher gives this perimeter group some size on the wing and should have ample opportunity to showcase his game against heightened competition. He’s another guy who is used to having the ball in his hands a lot, but he makes the game easier for his teammates.
Forwards: Gavin Keller, Jacksen Moni, Gunner Swanson, Jordan LeBeau
Keller and Moni are two of the best and highest upside bigs in the 2021 class and give this team some serious height up front. Both guys are skilled and capable of shooting the ball from the perimeter, while protecting the rim on the other end of the floor.
Swanson is more of a swingman than a pure forward and gives this team a legitimate knockdown shooter with some size and versatility to defend multiple guys.
LeBeau is back with ECI after a difficult first season at Bismarck Century, but he gives this group a workmanlike big with some physicality despite lacking great height. He’s another guy who can space the floor up front as well.
