The ECI Prospects should be one of the best teams in the Dakotas.
Here is a quick look
Guards: Paine Parks, Ian Motschenbacher, Parker Nelson, Mason Hills, Michael Nhial
Parks is one of the top prospects in North Dakota’s 2022 class, possessing the size and athleticism to be a dynamic two-way player on the wing. He earned more playing time as the year went on for a veteran, talented Grand Forks Red River team and will be one of the go-to guys next year.
Motschenbacher played JV for Fargo Davies as a sophomore but is highly-regarded and will be among the best guards in the EDC before long. He’s a skilled playmaker who can shoot the rock and control the game.
Nelson saw sparing minutes for West Fargo last winter but showed the ability to get to the rim and score in traffic.
Nhial got to play sparing minutes for a dominant West Fargo Sheyenne team and showed immense potential as a big wing with high-level athleticism and skill.
Hills is a junior-to-be from Moorhead and was a JV guy as a sophomore for the Spuds.
Forwards: Aaron Loberg, Jalen May, Aaron Grubb, Dominic Dosmann
Loberg and May both played extensive minutes for Fargo North as sophomores. Loberg averaged about 5.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while showing potential as a shooter and defender. May is more of a true big, and averaged better than eight points per game as a soph, while shooting 50 percent from the field. That’s an exciting frontcourt tandem for the Spartans and both should get a lot of run on this team.
Grubb was one the sophomore team at Mandan last winter and gives this team solid size on the wing.
Dosmann spent most of his sophomore year on the JV team with West Fargo Sheyenne, but saw some minutes in blowouts. He’s one of the top prospects in North Dakota’s 2022 class and gives the team a solid combination of length, perimeter skill and activity inside.
