A lot of very talented prospects who put the ball in the hole this weekend, but these were are a few prospects that stood out to me at the event. Prospects in whom I saw play multiple games and were very consistent throughout their play.
Jalen Lake Jalen Lake 6'4" | SG Waxahachie | 2021 State #245 Nation TX | 6’4″ SG | Waxahachie HS [Texas Impact 17U UA] ’21
Jalen is a highly skilled guard who can hurt you from all over the court. He is a solid catch and shoots prospect, as well as an on the move shooter. He can take you to the rim off the dribble as well or hurt you in the mid-range game. He knows his spots and he gets to them to fill up the score sheet. Besides his phenomenal scoring abilities, he also was able to put the clamps on his opponents as well.
Elijah Hughey Elijah Hughey 6'4" | SG Lancaster | 2021 State TX | 6’4″ SG | Lancaster HS [Lone Star Elite 17U] ’21
The tough guard who makes all the right plays at the right times. No one was able to rattle him in his game as he was filling up the stat sheet. Scores on the move and is very solid from the perimeter with the ball in his hands. Good slasher to the basket and will scorch you in the mid-range.
Chris Johnson Chris Johnson 6'6" | CG Montverde Academy | 2023 State #27 Nation FL | 6’4″ SG | Fort Bend Elkins HS [Houston Hoops 15EYB] ’23 as seen in the picture
Chris was out to make a statement that his freshman varsity experience was a fluke and that he is one of the top prospects in the state. He was a problem from the wing and driving along the baseline. He has good strength as he was able to bully his way to the basket for easy buckets. Plays off the bounce and can hurt you from all three levels on the floor.
Jaiden Briscoe | 6’4″ G | Houston Heights HS [Texas TakeOver Chaos 17U] ’21
Jaden was big-time for his squad this weekend. He showcased his ability to score the ball at a high rate and an above-average percentage. He was taking his man off the dribble. Moved well without the ball in his hands. He had some tough finishes at the rim and shot the ball well from all over the court.
Sammon Johnson | 6’2″ G | Colleyville Heritage HS [3D Empire 2023] ’23
Sam is a physical guard. He plays smart basketball and is a sneaky quiet stat sheet stuffer. He still is a really raw prospect but he scores the ball really well. He had his floater game going one game, and the other he was living in the lane at the rim. He even went coast-to-coast on a couple of possessions.
