Shakiru Odunewu | 6’9″ C | Universal Academy [Team FOE 17U] ’21
Shak really made a big impact on the game. He rebounds the ball with authority and runs the floor really well. He has a soft touch around the rim and has solid hands. Uses his strength exceptionally well to gain position and win battles down low. He altered a ton of shots and if he gets his timing down they will go from altered shots to a lot of blocked shots
Kendrick De Luna Kendrick De Luna 6'10" | C TMI | 2023 State #246 Nation TX | 6’9″ C | Conerstone Christian [Houston Hoops 15EYB] ’23
Kendrick is a highly skilled big that possesses a lot of skill. Not only does he run the floor well but he can handle the ball as well. He has a long wingspan and sounds like a grown man on the floor. He is very vocal and clears space as he crashes the boards. He plays great with his back to the basket, has some nice shimmy shakes, and a sweet baby hook around the rim. It’s a no brainer as to why he has Power 5’s after him.
William Shepherd | 6’8″ PF | Universal Academy [Play Ball Nation 17U] ’21
Will played really well for his grassroots squad this weekend. He was super active on the court. He snatched up almost every rebound in his vicinity. Blocked multiple shots showed his quick hands-on strips to come away with steals. Stretched out the floor in the short corner which he made teams pay who bit on his teammates driving as they kicked it to him for the knocked jumper.
Anden Holmes | 6’7″ F | Eaton HS [3D Empire 2023] ’23
This young prospect was refreshing to watch, it will be interesting to see where he exactly falls as far as position-wise in years to come. He can be utilized as a combo forward. Has the quickness to guard wing players and can hold down the paint. He is an outside marksman as well so he stretches out the floor being the biggest player on his grassroots squad. He has the ability to put the ball on the ground and reads his opponents well on whether to take them off the dribble or knock down the jumper.
M.J. Thomas M.J. Thomas 6'7" | PF Link Academy | 2024 MO | 6’6″ W | Calvert HS [Texas Tar Heels 17U Black] ’23
Malcolm played solid on the weekend overall. He had a really big game and didn’t let up on the offensive assault in other games either. He can be utilized as a Shooting Guard on the next level but thrives mainly from the wing position. Solid handle with the ball and can take his opponent off the dribble, shoot the ball well from deep and a high rate around the rim. He has the strength to guard bigger players and the quickness to guard small guards. He was a key factor for his squad this weekend.
