There were exactly 64 players in the league with 8 teams and 8 on each team. I had the pleasure of watching the Elite-8, Final-4 and Finals on Sunday.
Unfortunately I missed watching some of the players as they had prior AAU commitments they had to be a part of, but I saw 50+ of the 64 players.
I will do my categories that I think most of players fit in. Some of the players may have been great the other 3 days but when I watched on Sunday, they weren’t as productive, so they may not be a part of the 49.
Let’s move over to the All Upside group:
Isaac Hymes Isaac Hymes 6'9" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2023 State AZ (Hillcrest Prep)
-The long and tall forward is the younger brother of Nevada post KJ Hymes. Isaac is just starting to figure it out and his upside is really high. He blocks shots out of area, handles the ball and shoots 3’s. He moves well, and once he gets stronger, the sky is the limit.
Evan Coates Evan Coates 6'9" | C Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ (Phhoenix Prep)
-The incoming freshman has just as much upside as anyone. He has a pure shooting stroke from the perimeter and works well around the hoop. He has a stronger frame to battle inside and is crafty to score it.
Oliver Hinder Oliver Hinder 6'8" | C Corona del Sol | 2023 State AZ (CDS)
-A long and lean post player keeps growing every month it seems. He blocks shots in and out of his area and can make shots inside. He needs to put on weight but he’s another that will look better in a year.
Shane Williams Shane Williams 6'6" | PF South Mountain | 2023 State AZ (South Mountain)
-A super long and bouncy post player who is just starting to hit perimeter shots. He gets off the ground quickly and using his length he alters/blocks and rebounds anything near him. His offensive game is currently behind his D but another upside player to watch.
Jordan Kuac Jordan Kuac 6'5" | PF Ironwood | 2023 State AZ (Ironwood)
-Arguably the top motor in the league has shades of former Ironwood stud Ajang Aguek. He goes after every rebound and attacks the ball at its highest point. Even though he’s only 6’4 for a post, he is efficient around the basket and seems to jump on a trampoline to rise up and score above the bigs.
Julius Williams Julius Williams 6'5" | PF Ironwood | 2023 State AZ (Ironwood)
-One of the stronger players in the league plays like a power wing. He bounces off defenders with his sheer strength and fights for rebounds. He showed that he is a capable 3pt shooter but will have to keep progressing. He is one of the youngest in the class and his upside is very high.
Donovan Franks Donovan Franks 6'4" | PF Millennium | 2024 TX (Millennium)
-The big post player is extremely strong and has good girth. He holds his ground versus bigger players using his strength and length. He rebounds well and scores it around the hoop effectively.
