On Friday Dallas Showtyme’s 14th annual tournament will satiate our hunger. Among the hungry are the four young men below. They’ve just finished their freshman seasons and are more than ready to build on promising starts.
Robert “RJ” Jones Jr.
It’s hard to say anyone who just finished their freshman season is under recruited, especially with current NCAA recruiting rules in place. Yet RJ the 6-2 guard out of Braswell who worked himself from productive sixth man to starting 5 on a playoff team. The 2023 product can play either guard position, shoot the deep ball at a high level, and is no slouch on defense.
Peyton Chism
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the Drive Nation lead guard, but after watching film from his summer prior to his freshman year I’m excited to see how he’s progress. Chism led his team within a game of Jr. NBA championship as a calm and collected distributor. He threw passes he through had next level creativity. Proved to be a capable long range shooter. Once you factor in a growth spurt to 6 foot we’re looking at one of the best 2023 guard prospects in Texas.

The stand out Byron Nelson freshman average 14 points a game. He’ll bring that scoring punch to a stacked Assault Southern 15s team. Bizjack’s been a top tier three level scorer in another strong Texas class. Whether he’s creating scoring opportunities for himself or popping a catch and shoot three, the District 5-6A newcomer of the year is an offensive threat that gives effort on both sides of the ball.
