Here is our Film Room: 2022 Chicago South Suburbs Prospects!
AJ Casey AJ Casey 6'8" | PF Whitney Young | 2022 State #55 Nation IL (Tinley Park)
Casey is the top prospect in the 2022 class and is in the serious conversation for the best prospect in Illinois regardless of class. At 6’8” the four man has broad shoulders, projectable body, and a ton of athleticism. The thing that stands out the most about Casey is his overall fluidness. Everything he does is so smooth. His ball handling has improved so much which has opened up so many areas of his game. Can get to the basket from the mid-post and perimeter with ease. Really likes utilizing a spin move off the bounce before finishing with a two handed slam. His explosiveness finishing around the rim is very impressive. His jumper is very good from mid-range and has expanded to beyond the three point arc where he is rapidly improving and shooting with more confidence. Elite rim runner in transition. Defensively he is a monster shot blocker coming from the weak side or recovering after initially getting beat. Elite 5-star high major prospect.

Robbie Avila Robbie Avila 6'9" | PF Oak Forest | 2022 State #225 Nation IL (Oak Forest)
Avila is among the best prospects in the class. The power forward has legit size at about 6’8” with long arms and a frame that he can add strength. This past season Avila averaged 16 points, 8 boards, and 1.7 blocks a game on one of the best Oak Forest teams in school history. The face up four man is a plus three point shooter especially off the catch. Little slow on the release, but he is money in the pick/pop game. Overall skilled game being able to put it on the deck and passes well for a post including a strong outlet thrower. Mobility on the offensive end is one of his strengths. Soft touch and sound footwork around the hoop on post touches. Decent shot blocker at a young age. Trending toward a high-major prospect.

Xavier Lewis Xavier Lewis 6'7" | PF Tf South | 2022 State IL (TF South)
Lewis is an intriguing upside prospect in the 2022 class. Combo forward with long arms and broad shoulders. Frame to be able to add strength moving forward. Explosive athlete that plays above the rim. Quickness and bounce around the hoop are very impressive at a young age. Crisp one dribble pull up and can hit from three as well. Weaves through the defense in transition. Turns defense into offense fast. Has a chance to develop into a force on the defensive end of the floor. Worth putting on the radar for D1 programs.

Christian Meeks Christian Meeks 6'6" | SF Homewood Flossmoor | 2022 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor)
Meeks stands at 6’5” as a combo forward, but probably projects best as a four man at the next level. Broad shoulders and physically developed upper body. His strengths are his physicality, athleticism, and tenacity. Meeks’ motor never stops running. Quick and powerful inside finishing above the rim on dump offs, put backs, and running the floor in transition. Plays so hard! Tough rebounder that snatches them in traffic. Big time defender that makes a significant impact on that end. Non-shooter at this stage. Low-major prospect.

Aa’Reyon Munir-Jones (Tinley Park)
This 6’2” shooting guard could become the Robin to AJ Casey AJ Casey 6'8" | PF Whitney Young | 2022 State #55 Nation IL ’s Batman for Tinley Park. Fluid ball handler that puts combination moves together off the bounce. Slick getting to the basket. Smooth pull up game getting elevation off the floor. Plus athlete. D2 prospect with the chance to elevate.
