Here is our Film Room: 2021 Chicago Public & Catholic League Prospects!
Ty Johnson Ty Johnson 6'3" | PG Depaul Prep | 2021 State #198 Nation IL (DePaul Prep)
Johnson is listed on DePaul Prep’s roster at 6’0”. This combo guard showed improved passing than what we had seen in the past. Was effective dumping off passes to his big men when he drove and also found some shooters. His biggest strength is probably his lethal spin move where he tornados through the lane finishing with scoop shots, acrobatic layups, or short runners. At or below the rim finisher in this tape. Plays with good pace and has the ability to make plays exploding off ball screens. Mid-range pull up was effective with elevation. He also showed he could knock down threes, but didn’t get much height off the floor on those shots. Mid-major prospect that has helium heading down the stretch.

Brian Mathews Brian Mathews 6'8" | C Depaul Prep | 2021 State IL (DePaul Prep)
Mathews is one of the top post prospects in the state’s 2021 class. At 6’9” he has a super strong and physical frame. High level rebounder that snatches them in traffic high pointing them consistently. Has touch around the basket on a hook shot and short jumpers. Can also finish with powerful dunks. Low-major plus prospect that could potentially be a mid-major guy in the right system.

Isaiah Barnes Isaiah Barnes 6'5" | SG Simeon | 2021 State #139 Nation IL (Simeon)
Barnes has been one of the hottest prospects in the state this spring reeling in tons of high-major offers. He has good positional size at the shooting guard spot at 6’6”. His jump shooting was a major portion of his evolution this past season and that was shown in the tape. Plus shot prep with smooth mechanics and a quick release on his shot. Has a hesi pull up that was effective pulling straight up creating separation with the defender moving backwards. As a driver we would describe him as gliding acceleration more so than explosive. Acrobatic finisher at the cup with an array of difficult layups and euro steps in the paint. Defensively he turns steals into touchdowns with slams at the other end. High-major top 10 prospect!
Christian Henry Christian Henry 6'1" | PG St. Rita | 2021 State IL (St. Rita)
Henry took his game to another level as a junior. He is a quick and explosive point guard. Brings a nice balance between power and speed. Burst with the ball in his hands and finishes extremely well through contact at the rim. Consistently wins off the dribble with his tight handles and first step. Quick dishes in the lane to finishers. Capable three point shooter and is solid pulling up from mid-range with quick elevation off the floor.

Terrance Ford Terrance Ford 5'9" | PG Orr | 2021 IL (Leo)
Ford is a 5’11” lead guard that has a strong and stocky build at his height. He is extremely quick and shifty with the ball in his hands. Changes gears with regularity. Pushes with speed in the open floor. Excellent with scoop shots around the hoop converting with either hand. Solid pull up jumper with elevation and pretty consistent balance/mechanics. Interesting D2 prospect with chance to elevate.

Luke Moustakas Luke Moustakas 6'6" | PF Brother Rice | 2021 State IL (Brother Rice)
This 6’7” 210 pound face up four man is most effective as a floor stretching power forward. He is good at spotting up for threes forcing opposing big men to guard him way out on the perimeter. Knocks down shots from deep. Below the rim athlete around the hoop that has touch including a hook shot. Decent positional post defender that can block a shot on occasion. D2s and small colleges should monitor.

Amarion Fields (Solorio)
Fields stands at 5’11” at the point guard spot. High motor guard that brings his energy on both ends of the floor. Scrappy defensively with active hands at the point of attack. Offensively can hit an occasional jumper, but was most effective using his runner game before the shot blocker got there. Small college player.

Scotty Dean (Loyola)
Dean stands at 6’1” and this combo guard is most effective as a spot up shooter. Constantly moving looking for spots to get his shot off. Like his follow through consistently on each shot. Average athlete that is a decent passer. Should find a home at the small college level.

Jabari Scuefield (Perspectives)
This 6’1” shooting guard plays bigger than his listed height because of his quality length. Rebounds well on the offensive end for a guard and passes with some flair in the open floor. Small college player.

Jordan Hill (Solorio)
Hill is a 6’0” combo guard that brings athleticism to the spot. Clean looking three point shot. Strong outlet passer that throws them on the money. Quality small college player.

BJ Denton (Lindblom)
Denton stands at 5’10” with a rangy frame. Quality spot up shooter that knocks down shots with a soft touch. Does bring it down quite a bit to get his shot off. Good passing feel on the move. Small college sleeper!

Ola Ajiboye Ola Ajiboye 6'8" | PF Evanston | 2021 State IL (Von Steuben)
This 6’8” four man is one of the top posts in the 2021 class. Long, angular, and thin build. Will definitely need to add strength moving forward, but there is so much upside! It starts with what he does on the defensive end as a high level shot blocker showing timing swatting shots. Quick to the glass especially on the offensive end where he crashes hard for second chance points. Can stretch the floor with his shooting really well from mid-range and pretty solid from three point territory. On the block he displays a nice right handed hook shot. Mid-major prospect.

Parker Higginbottom Parker Higginbottom 5'9" | PG St. Ignatius | 2021 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Higginbottom is a high IQ point guard that can hit from mid-range with regularity and has improved his ability to shoot it from three over his career. Sound form on his pull up game. Crafty finishing in the paint. Good passer in the half court that gets others involved from his lead guard spot. Should find a home at the small college level.

John Digenan John Digenan 6'4" | SF St. Ignatius | 2021 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Digenan is a 6’4” long and super thin small forward. The Catholic League wing has a high release on his jumper and can hit spot up shots. Runs the floor well in transition. Attacks smooth with baseline drives. Small college prospect.
