Below you will find, listed in alphabetical order by last name, 10 of the best playmakers from Washington D.C. This is part of a series that will aim to highlight players based on various superlatives.
Note: these superlative lists will not be mutually exclusive. If someone can handle the ball and do something else (i.e. shoot) at a high level, they will be included in both lists.

At 6-foot-4, Achufusi impacts the game in many ways. He’s a playmaker on both the defensive and offensive end. Achufusi guards several positions well and knows how to make those around him better.
Michael Aiken Michael Aiken 5'9" | PG Thurgood Marshall | 2021 State MD | Thurgood Marshall ’21
Aiken continues to fly under-the-radar among the top playmakers in the local 2021 class. He’s a threat to drop 10 assists on a given night but is also more than capable of swiping three steals as well.
Quincy Allen Quincy Allen 6'7" | SF Maret | 2021 State #125 Nation MD | Maret ’21
One of the most underrated aspects of Allen’s overall game has to be his ability to distribute the basketball. At 6-foot-7, he showcases impressive court vision and the ability to drop accurate dimes from a variety of angles.
Cam’Ron Brown | Archbishop Carroll ’22
Brown prides himself on being a pass-first point guard and a lockdown defender. Anytime he’s on the court, expect him to make the right play.
Darren Buchanan Jr. Darren Buchanan Jr. 6'7" | PF Woodrow Wilson | 2022 State #101 Nation MD | Woodrow Wilson ’22
One of the more unique prospects in the local 2022 class, Buchanan is essentially a point forward. He is a reliable two-way playmaker who displays high-quality leadership intangibles.
Michael Cheadle Michael Cheadle 5'7" | PG Dunbar | 2021 State MD | Dunbar ’21

Devin Dinkins Devin Dinkins 5'10" | PG Gonzaga | 2022 State MD | Gonzaga ’22

Rasheed Dupree Rasheed Dupree 5'5" | PG KIPP | 2021 State MD | KIPP ’21
Dupree was one notable omission from the ball-handlers list, and he can certainly handle the ball, but he’s also a high-level playmaker on both ends of the court. Not only is he a pest on the ball defensively who’s adept at coming up with steals, but he’s also a crafty paint getter who enjoys getting others involved.
Saveon Jackson Saveon Jackson 6'0" | CG KIPP | 2021 State MD | KIPP ’21
Whatever the team needs, Jackson is always there to deliver. If he needs to get a rebound in traffic, make a play with the ball, or lock up the opposing team’s best player, he’ll do it. There’s no role that Jackson hasn’t filled at KIPP, and that’s why he’s been such a huge part of their recent success.
