In Colorado, while no 2022 player got an offer, it was great to see the hard work pay off as the players and coaches made those connections. Here is a list of guards that received calls from this class, and I expect the list to grow as well as players pick up offers as the year goes on.
Elijah Knudsen Elijah Knudsen 5'10" | CG Mead | 2022 State CO – Mead
It’s easy to understand why schools are gaining interest in one of the state’s best shooters. He has a quick release, can create for himself, and if he is open for a shot, just get back on defense. What is starting to be seen with Knudsen though, is his ability to put it on the ground. He can beak a defender down and get to the rim where he finishes with either hand. A trio of in-state schools gave him a call/text in the last month. Expect it to grow.
Quis Davis Quis Davis 5'11" | PG Denver East | 2022 State CO – Denver East
Quis is one of the better combo-guards in the state and just might be the best passer in the entire class. What he excels at is setting teammates up for an easy basket and has a natural feel for the game. Davis cannot be contained in the open court, has great court-awareness, and once he develops an outside jumper is going to have quite the trifecta. One division I school in-state and a couple of others in the West have begun to take an interest in this explosive guard that plays above the rim.
Sam Howery Sam Howery 6'1" | PG St. Mary’s | 2022 State CO – St. Mary’s
Howery had arguably the most impressive stat line from any guard in the state last year and showed that he could do anything on the basketball court. Howery might be the best rebounder from anyone under 6’0 in the state. Howery is a knockdown shooter, sees the floor well, and gets others involved as well as takes over when needed. Howery has excellent upside, and a couple of in-state schools have put him on their radars. Expect that to grow.
Coby Jimenez Coby Jimenez 6'2" | CG Horizon | 2022 State CO – Horizon
Jimenez may be a bit surprising for some, but that just means that you have not seen much of him lately. Jimenez is a smooth guard that is a swiss-army-knife type of player. He shows off his high IQ on the floor as he can play positions 1-3, he spaces the floor with his outside shooting and also has excellent size. Jimenez did not play much for Horizon, but with all of the added work he has improved on and showcased with the Colorado Roughriders, it makes sense that two schools put him on their radar as a player to watch moving forward.
Aidan Kuhl Aidan Kuhl 6'0" | SG Rocky Mountain | 2022 State #245 Nation CO – Rocky Mountain
Kuhl is a fierce competitor that plays extremely hard. He gives every single possession his all, and he also can affect the game in various ways. Kuhl is a hard-nosed defender that plays above his size, pushes his guys as well as provides a spark for the entirety of the game. Kuhl has a great outside shot, gets to the rim with his quick first step, and also is dangerous in the open court. One school got in contact with him.
