Specifically, with the shooting guard group in the 2021 class, due to be seniors in the fall there are some top tier prospects.
Here is a look at the Top 10 shooting guards in the Jacksonville 2021 class. Check back later this week to see the rest of the positional groups in the 2021 class from Jacksonville.

#1 – Deebo Coleman Deebo Coleman 6'6" | SG West Nassau | 2021 State #49 Nation FL | 6-6 | West Nassau
Dallan “Deebo” Coleman holds offers from Ohio State (earned on Wednesday), Louisville, UF, FSU, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Alabama, Saint Louis, Georgetown, UNF, Oklahoma State and Iowa State. He is ranked No. 35 in the country by ESPN, No. 43 by Prep Hoops national and No. 3 in the state of Florida by Prep Hoops. The kid can go at a high level, averaging 25.8 PPG, 8.1 RPG while adding 11 30-point games this past season. He averaged nearly 20 PPG as a freshman and has only gotten better. He’s a superb ballhandler, talented shooter and a physical and dangerous playmaker. Coleman’s length and confidence are both on display game in and game out. #2 – Zyhir Sims Zyhir Sims 6'3" | CG Fletcher | 2021 State FL | 6-2 | Fletcher
At Neptune Beach Fletcher, Zyhir Sims Zyhir Sims 6'3" | CG Fletcher | 2021 State FL is a legitimate talent. He’s the true definition of a shooting guard and he isn’t afraid to nail a 3-pointer or mid-range right in your face. He averaged 21.0 PPG, 4. RPG and 4 SPG as a junior topped by a 36-point performance against Sandalwood. He holds an offer from Albany State and has generated a plethora of interest from Toledo, Central Michigan, Coastal Carolina, Norfolk State, Rice, Robert Morris, UNC Asheville, Tennessee Martin, San Jose State, Florida A&M, UNF, Alabama A&M, Campbell and Oakland. Growing in height over the last year, Sims will fill out his body and with that, he will become more versatile. His speed and playmaking ability are both through the roof already. #3- Calvin Johnson Calvin Johnson 6'5" | CG Impact Christian | 2021 State FL | 6-4 | Impact Christian
Calvin Johnson Calvin Johnson 6'5" | CG Impact Christian | 2021 State FL is dripping with upside. The lengthy shooting guard/point man is a fun prospect to watch. He’s had some really good flashes these past two seasons including in Impact Christian’s state runs. He averaged 10.6 PPG and 5.2 RPG led by a 28-point game against Cornerstone Christian. Johnson has drawn interest from Lehigh, Drexel, Georgia State and George Washington. Playing on an unselfish and athletic squad, Johnson’s leadership will be at the forefront this fall as he will have an opportunity to run the show. Highlights via Hudl.
#4 – Saevion Brown Saevion Brown 6'5" | CG North Florida Educational | 2021 State FL | 6-6 | North Florida Educational
Arriving from Toronto, Canada as a freshman, Saevion Brown Saevion Brown 6'5" | CG North Florida Educational | 2021 State FL fit right in from the jump at North Florida Educational. He is a bigger bodied guard who has a lot of strength and ability as a two-way player. Brown holds an offer from High Point along with interest from UCF, Tulane, Oakland and Miami of Ohio. He fills stat sheets with his scoring, rebounding and high IQ passing. Look for Brown to continue to mature as a senior for a team that is looking to get back to Lakeland after missing out this past spring.
#5- Austin Lewis | 6-2 | Bishop Snyder
When you watch Austin Lewis play, he is one of the most ferocious defenders you’ll see. He’s a lockdown defender who takes that side of the ball very seriously. At Bishop Snyder, he was able to excel as a junior, averaging 12.0 PPG and 6.0 RPG. He’s not done growing in height and strength and I fully expect him to take a huge leap here this fall. Lewis is an under the radar player who can get it done on both ends of the floor consistently.
#6- Jack Dillard Jack Dillard 6'0" | PG Providence | 2021 State FL | 6-1| Providence
There were some huge performances from Jack Dillard Jack Dillard 6'0" | PG Providence | 2021 State FL as a junior which included four 20-point nights across his first four games. No outing was better than his season-high 26 point game against Florida High as he hit 6-of-8 from long range. Dillard plays the game the right way, has a quick trigger as a shooter, plays with patience on offense and always seems to create open shots. He averaged 11.4 PPG, 5.1 RPG and 2.4 APG this season. #7 – Daniel Buckley Daniel Buckley 6'0" | PG Bishop Kenny | 2021 State FL | 6-0 | Bishop Kenny
Maturing over the years, Daniel Buckley Daniel Buckley 6'0" | PG Bishop Kenny | 2021 State FL has been a key asset at Bishop Kenny. The natural shooter averaged 11.7 PPG during his junior campaign as he shot 43 percent from deep. In fact, he hit 61 3’s on the season, nearly double the amount field goals inside the arc he took. Buckley is a fast paced guard who can hit off feeds, in transition and just in sets. He should continue to pour it on from deep as a senior. Highlights via Hudl.
#8 – Donovan Morgan Donovan Morgan 6'3" | SG Westside | 2021 State FL | 6-3 | Westside
Joining the Westside varsity team at the end of his sophomore year, Donovan Morgan Donovan Morgan 6'3" | SG Westside | 2021 State FL really put in the work as a junior and it showed. He averaged 11.9 PPG while putting up some very strong games which included 37 points against Seacoast Christian, 21 points against Parker and 19 points against West Nassau. Morgan knocked down 74 3’s on the season and shot a highly efficient 42 percent from long range. He is a deep ball specialist and someone who can hurt you in a blink of an eye.
#9 – Lokose Natana Lokose Natana 6'2" | SG Parker | 2021 State FL | 6-1 | Parker
Transferring over from Englewood last summer, Lokose Natana Lokose Natana 6'2" | SG Parker | 2021 State FL instantly made an impact for his new Parker squad. He averaged 13.5 PPG and 3.0 RPG which featured a 26-point game against Stanton, multiple 24 point games and a 23-point night against Fletcher where he shot 6-of-9 from the field. Working on his efficiency will be largely important as a senior, but he is a scorer by nature.
#10 – Joe Carter Joe Carter 6'1" | CG University Christian | 2021 State FL | 6-1 | University Christian
A strongly built guard, Joe Carter Joe Carter 6'1" | CG University Christian | 2021 State FL doubles as a linebacker and running back for the University Christian football where he’s earned several Division I offers. For the basketball team, he averaged 11.3 PPG and 4.7 RPG this past season, where he recorded double digits in each of the last nine games of the season. His feature game was a 28-point Class 2A region quarterfinal win over Saint Francis Catholic. Strong at 210 lbs., Carter can move guys around and his finishing at the glass is a true asset.
Other players to watch:
Jordan Jara | 5-11 | Crescent City
Averaging 12.2 PPG, Jordan Jara was consistent as can be for Crescent City. His best game was against Georgia McIntosh County where he scored 25 points, hitting 8-of-10 from the field overall. Jara will be leaned upon to add points aplenty.
Cory Wyatt | 5-10 | Middleburg
In his second varsity season, Cory Wyatt made some progress as he averaged 10.7 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 2.0 APG. He shot 35 percent from deep and 60 percent from the field on the year, putting up two 20-point games against Stanton and Orange Park. Adding muscle to his lean frame will be important for Wyatt.
Vanari Johnson Vanari Johnson 5'8" | PG Palatka | 2021 State FL | 5-8 | Palatka
A combo guard who shoots it well, Vanari Johnson Vanari Johnson 5'8" | PG Palatka | 2021 State FL played a bit on varsity at the end of his sophomore year. As a junior, he averaged 11.4 PPG as he shot 47 percent from deep and 66 percent from the field overall. His lone 20-point games came against St. Augustine – 22 points and Spruce Creek – 21 points. Johnson will be tasked to do plenty this fall.
John Brice John Brice 6'2" | CG Pedro Menendez | 2021 State FL | 6-2 | Menendez
Not lacking size as a shooter, John Brice John Brice 6'2" | CG Pedro Menendez | 2021 State FL had his top game of the season right out of the gates with a 22-point night against Bolles. He averaged 10.4 PPG for the season, shooting 39 percent from long range. Brice’s upside is clear.
