Centers
#1 – James Lee Repass James Lee Repass 6'10" | PF Providence | 2021 State FL | 6-10 | Providence
As physical as they come, Providence big man James Lee Repass James Lee Repass 6'10" | PF Providence | 2021 State FL is the best power player in the Jacksonville area and one of the best in the entire state. He committed to Furman in early March right before the COVID-19 situation evolved at a serious level. He averaged 13.3 PPG, 5.8 RPG and 0.9 RPG as a junior on a 19-10 squad. He makes his money as a bruiser that outworks defenders with his mix of size and strength. The best game for Repass came against Bolles when he added 26 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. He can hold his own on both ends of the floor.
#2 – Alijah Kuehl Alijah Kuehl 6'10" | PF Bartram Trail | 2021 State FL | 6-10 | Batram Trail
This past season proved that Alijah Kuehl Alijah Kuehl 6'10" | PF Bartram Trail | 2021 State FL is right up there in the top big men conversation in the city and around the state right behind Repass. At St. John’s Bartram Trail, the lengthy center averaged 11.3 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 1.6 BPG which included 15 games in double digits. Kuehl scored in every game during the season, nothing lower than six points and his top outing came against Mandarin when he recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds. He holds offers from New Orleans, Mercer, UNC Wilmington, Jacksonville and Division II Rollins. He’s an elusive big who can move his feet and get to the basket with ease. View highlights via Hudl.
#3 – Marquez Ray Marquez Ray 6'7" | PF Andrew Jackson | 2021 State FL | 6-9 | Jackson
Injured for a good portion of last season, Marquez Ray Marquez Ray 6'7" | PF Andrew Jackson | 2021 State FL still was active and battled for Jackson, who made its second straight state tournament appearance in Lakeland. A long body, he has a ton of upside as long as he can stay at 100 percent. Adding muscle and more handles will help further his progression. Ray still has time to improve and could end up as a prep candidate after his senior season depending on how things go. Regardless, his potential is clear.
#4- Andre Rogelio| 6-5 | Matanzas
Doubling as a defensive end for the football team, Andre Rogelio is a gritty player on the basketball court as well. For a Palm Coast Matanzas squad who finished 13-13, he took chances around the rim and the mid-range spot. He is a big body who can simply fight for buckets and win 1-on-1 battles in the paint. Rogelio is likely suited best as a football player with his powerful frame, but he’s fun to watch out there hooping.
#5- Shawn Dukes | 6-8 | Clay
For a Clay team that ended this past season with an 11-10 record, Shawn Dukes was a bonafide center for his team. There is still a lot for him to work on, but he’s a core rebounder and a very gifted shot blocker. Offensively, Dukes knows he can dig in deep down low and improve his passing and heads up play in transition. Regardless, he is a long athlete who should get better this fall.
Power Forwards
#1 – Christopher Johnson | 6-2 | Ribault
A tight end/defensive end for the Ribault football team as well, Christopher Johnson excelled on the basketball court as he averaged 12.9 PPG and 7.6 RPG. He is on the smaller end of size for forwards, but he has his strong football body and can move people around and finish inside. Johnson had five 20 point games and 15 double digit performances overall. His 27 point (9-of-11 shooting from the field) and 11 rebound night against University Christian was his top moment.
#2 – Royce Morris Royce Morris 6'3" | SF University Christian | 2021 State FL | 6-3 | University Christian
Royce Morris Royce Morris 6'3" | SF University Christian | 2021 State FL was a nice piece for University Christian this past season, averaging 11.2 PPG and 3.8 RPG. He shoots it well for a stronger player, 60 percent from the field and 45 percent from deep. Morris generated a 21-point, 8-rebound game against Riviera Beach Suncoast and that was his best outing on the season. Expect more steady play from him this fall.
#3 – Corey Humbles Corey Humbles 6'4" | PF Oakleaf | 2021 State FL | 6-4 | Oakleaf
At Orange Park Oakleaf, Corey Humbles Corey Humbles 6'4" | PF Oakleaf | 2021 State FL has been apart of the varsity squad the past two seasons. He averaged 8.0 PPG and 5.6 RPG as a junior and was a force on the glass, especially on the defensive end. He has nimble feet and can shoot it fairly well, even from outside. I see Humbles doing more of the same for his group as a senior.
#4 – D’Marre Craddock | 6-4 | Orange Park
D’Marre Craddock was quietly steady for Orange Park this past season as he averaged 7.2 PPG and 5.0 RPG. He never did anything super flashy, but he scored in every game and had a nice 18-point, six-rebound game against Bishop Kenny in a 50-49 loss in late January. Craddock is a fine athlete who certainly will do more of the same this fall.
#5- Jamaree Spikes | 6-5 | West Nassau
Callahan West Nassau isn’t the deepest team, but alongside high major guard Deebo Coleman Deebo Coleman 6'6" | SG West Nassau | 2021 State #49 Nation FL , there is an intriguing forward Jamaree Spikes. He doubles as a small forward and power forward and is someone I see getting plenty of run this upcoming season. Spikes averaged 5.1 PPG and 2.8 RPG with season-high games of 12 points against Hilliard and 11 points against Paxon
