We will be breaking down each conference starting with the Class of 2021 first to show college coaches who they need to be placing a value on heading into the year.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these seniors-to-be catch the attention of prospective college coaches.
Ty Walker Ty Walker 5'11" | PG Valley | 2021 State IA – West Des Moines Valley
If not for the incredibly talented duo from the Class of 2021 at Waukee, West Des Moines Valley’s Ty Walker Ty Walker 5'11" | PG Valley | 2021 State IA would be the top returning player in the CIML Iowa Conference.
Walker scored 324 points for the Tigers as a junior, adding in 48 rebounds, 48 assists and 19 steals. He shot 44 percent from the field with 44 made three-pointers while sinking 84 percent of his free throws.
Wyatt Heston Wyatt Heston 6'7" | SF Waukee | 2021 State IA – Waukee
Everybody already knows about Tucker DeVries Tucker DeVries 6'7" | SF Waukee | 2021 State #123 Nation IA and Payton Sandfort Payton Sandfort 6'7" | SF Waukee | 2021 State #138 Nation IA of Waukee, but the Class of 2021 features more than just those two.
That includes Wyatt Heston Wyatt Heston 6'7" | SF Waukee | 2021 State IA , who started 16 of 24 games alongside the two. He scored 185 points with 88 rebounds, 49 assists, 17 blocks and 12 steals.
As teams continue to focus on DeVries and Sandfort, look for big things out of Heston, who shot 53 percent from the floor with 53 made triples for the state runners-up.
James Glenn James Glenn 6'2" | PG Sep | 2021 State IA – Southeast Polk
The leading returning scorer for Southeast Polk, James Glenn James Glenn 6'2" | PG Sep | 2021 State IA contributed almost 13 points per game a year ago, shooting 44 percent from the field, 46 percent from deep and 84 percent at the line.
He knocked down 56 triples in all, adding 75 rebounds, 48 assists, 18 steals and 10 blocks.
Dayson Clayton – Fort Dodge
One of the top running back recruits in the state, Dayson Clayton is primed for a big year for the Dodgers on the hardwood.
Clayton is the leading returning scorer for Fort Dodge after posting 166 points. He also had 51 rebounds, 12 assists and seven steals in just 19 games played, shooting 41 percent from the field with a team-high 25 made triples.
Malichai Williams Malichai Williams 6'6" | PF Southeast Polk | 2021 State IA – Southeast Polk
Another key returning piece for Southeast Polk is Malichai Williams Malichai Williams 6'6" | PF Southeast Polk | 2021 State IA .
Last year, Williams posted 174 points with 119 rebounds, including 41 on the offensive glass. He also chipped in 20 assists, 16 steals and 16 blocks.
Williams shot a red-hot 63 percent from the field, sinking 70 of his 111 field goal attempts.
