Ryan Cornish Ryan Cornish 6'3" | CG Sidwell Friends | 2021 State MD | Sidwell Friends (DC) ’21
One of the things Cornish does better than most players is to sell contact. He’s good for at least 1 charge per game and is equally effective at drawing on-ball charges as he is off the ball.
Is there a better charge-taker in the DMV than @rcornish21?

Mike Gray Mike Gray 5'10" | PG Landon | 2022 State MD | Landon (MD) ’22
Landon’s roster lacks rim protection, so naturally, they need guys who are willing to play solid team defense. Mike Gray Mike Gray 5'10" | PG Landon | 2022 State MD is one of those guys who will not hesitate to step up, put his body on the line, and take a charge from time to time.
Tyrell Harris Tyrell Harris 6'6" | PF Potomac | 2021 State VA | Potomac (VA) ’21
Standing at 6-foot-6, Harris is a gifted athlete who impacts the game defensively in many ways. He can stuff the stat sheet with blocks and steals but is an underrated charge-taker as well. Harris excels at selling contact and his positional awareness is outstanding.
Trevor Keels Trevor Keels 6'4" | SG Paul VI | 2021 State #18 Nation VA | Paul VI (VA) ’21
Whether in a camp setting, AAU, or high school, one thing you can count on with Keels is that he’ll play the right way. That includes stepping up and taking a charge when the opportunity presents itself.
Kordell Lewis Kordell Lewis 5'10" | PG Richard Montgomery | 2021 State MD | Richard Montgomery (MD) ’21
Anyone who has matched up with Lewis can attest to his diligence both on and off the ball defensively. An alpha-dog type competitor, he will do whatever he can to give his team an edge, including taking charges.
Austin Smith | Potomac School (VA) ’22
Smith is a vigilant defender who took some of the toughest charges we saw on tape this season. Good for at least one charge during a given contest, he is the type of player you hate to play against but love to have on your team.
Manny Tucker Manny Tucker 6'7" | C Annandale | 2022 VA | Annandale (VA) ’22
Tucker bolstered the backline of Annandale’s defense last year with his constant communication and alert help defense. The 6-foot-7 big man is adept at drawing charges and we saw this multiple times throughout the past season.
Ben Williams Ben Williams 6'0" | PG National Christian | 2021 State MD | St. Mary’s Ryken (MD) ’21
A defensive-minded point guard who loves to pressure the ball, Williams can be a pesky matchup for foes. One way in which he annoys his opponents is by drawing charges.

Every team needs a Gabriel Wilson. Taking charges is just one way in which he impacts the game. Wilson is the ultimate hustle guy who can fit into any team concept.
