Continue ReadingIn an effort to provide new and unique ways to cover prospects, we thought it would be important to give some coverage to those that might not always get it. To do that, we will be digging deep into each conference in the state.
We will be breaking down each conference starting with the Class of 2021 first to show college coaches who they need to be placing a value on heading into the year.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these seniors-to-be catch the attention of prospective college coaches.
Carson Brown Carson Brown 6'0" | SF Moravia | 2021 State IA – Moravia
Led by leading scorer Carson Brown Carson Brown 6'0" | SF Moravia | 2021 State IA , Moravia secured a winning season a year ago, posting 12 victories in all.
Brown averaged 17.5 points per game, shooting almost 49 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from the three-point line for the Mohawks. He knocked down 30 triples in all and was also strong at the free throw line, shooting 68 percent.
He was also the leading rebounder at six per game and had a team-high 44 assists with 29 steals and 15 blocks.
Cale Leever Cale Leever 5'9" | SG Ankeny Christian Academy | 2021 State IA – Ankeny Christian
Ankeny Christian was one step away from a state tournament appearance, finishing 21-4 and advancing to the substate final. The Eagles will have several key pieces returning led by Cale Leever Cale Leever 5'9" | SG Ankeny Christian Academy | 2021 State IA .
Leever scored 324 points last year, shooting over 50 percent from the field and almost 40 percent from deep. He also added 74 rebounds, 49 assists and 41 steals.
Hayden Stewart – Lamoni
Defending Bluegrass Conference champion Lamoni needs to replace senior Stephen Ansong Stephen Ansong 6'2" | PF Lamoni | 2020 State IA , but they feature a host of talented returning players to do so.
One of those is Class of 2021 prospect Hayden Stewart, who posted 316 points, which tied Ansong. He also had 91 rebounds, 52 assists and 36 steals, shooting 44 percent from the field with 33 made triples.
Steven Krpan – Melcher-Dallas
Leading scorer and rebounder Steven Krpan will embark upon his senior season with Melcher-Dallas this coming winter.
Krpan averaged almost 14 points a game with eight rebounds, including three on the offensive glass.
He finished with 303 total points, 175 rebounds, 46 assists, 41 steals and 23 blocks, making 16 three-pointers.
Colby Elrod Colby Elrod 5'8" | CG Ankeny Christian Academy | 2021 State IA – Ankeny Christian
Another piece returning for Ankeny Christian this winter will be Colby Elrod Colby Elrod 5'8" | CG Ankeny Christian Academy | 2021 State IA .
Elrod tallied 223 points, shooting 39 percent from the field and 37 percent from the three-point line with 51 made triples. He also recorded 79 rebounds, 52 assists and 33 steals for the Eagles.
