Here’s a quick look at a few more local SoCal players who are suiting up in the Pangos Best of Arizona league.
1. T.J. Wainwright – Westchester 2021
Wainwright has been one of the top rising prospects in the Los Angeles area and he holds a few Division offers already. The lefty shooter is a very talented scorer who can get hot in a hurry. He has unlimited range and is near automatic from three when he’s left open. He’s worked on his ability to be a playmaker as well. He’s becoming more of a combo guard who can handle the ball and use his vision to find teammates for open looks.
2. Jazz Gardner Jazz Gardner 7'0" | C Los Altos | 2023 State #85 Nation CA-S – Los Altos 2023
Gardner is one of the most intriguing prospects in all of Southern California. He has imposing size at 6-10. He moves his feet well on defense, especially in the paint. He times his blocks well and he can recover and get from one side of the paint to the other in a hurry. Offensively, he has a soft touch around the rim and nice little hook shot. He’s relentless on the glass and gets second shot opportunities off missed shots.
3. Justin Daniels Justin Daniels 6'4" | SG Mater Dei | 2023 CA-S – Mater Dei 2023
Daniels is another very intriguing prospect. He didn’t play much at all as a freshman last season with the Monarchs, but should have an increased role in his second year of high school basketball. He’s shown flashes of his potential at various grassroots events over the past year. He is a wing player who stands at 6-4 already with room to grow. He’s shown the ability to be a scorer at all three levels.
4. Kerie Edmead – St Pius X-St. Matthias Academy 2021
Edmead is a scoring point guard with crafty ball-handling to elude defenders. He excels at making plays off the dribble and getting to the rim. He’s a strong finisher at the rim. He’s a pretty decent three-point shooter too. He has good court vision and a good drive and kick game and drive and dish. Runs the break well and can recognize when to take the ball himself or dish to teammates.
