Igiehon comes in as our top-ranked player in Austin for the 2022 class and number 28 overall in Texas. Averaged a double-double for a St. Stephen’s squad that made the Southwest Prep playoffs this past season. The versatile forward oozes with potential on offense as he is an explosive playmaker in the paint and above the rim. He can put the ball on the floor and blow by defenders to get to the basket, while also possessing a good post-up game. Plays with great strength and knows how to finish around the rim. Igiehon is also an elite defender in the paint as a rim protector who knows how to use his length and anticipation to disrupt opponents’ shots.
#2 – Jae’lyn Brooks | 6-3 SG | Round Rock
Brooks is an elite scorer who knows how to get it done at all three levels on the court. With a pretty shot and motion, he is a threat from both three-point territory and the mid-range. Possess a smooth turnaround jumper in the mid-range, while having a lethal deep-range shot from both wing spots. Highly athletic with great burst and leaping ability, Brooks does a great job of getting past defenders and finishing at the basket. He was clutch in late-game situations for Round Rock last season. Smart averaged 12.9 points, 2.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game for the Hippos last season while shooting 35% from three-point range and having five games of 20+ points. He always seems to be in control with the ball in his hands and does a great job of finding open teammates. He is also a good catch-and-shoot threat from deep. Napoleon is an athletic forward prospect who is a beast in the paint as he attacks the basket with a purpose. He plays above the rim and is a powerful dunker, while also possessing a nice short-corner shot. Does a great job of gobbling up rebounds.
