SMALL SCHOOL STARS
SF Houston Murphy – 4A Wimberley
Murphy is a versatile forward who averaged 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game during his junior season for the Texans. Murphy can do it all on offense, showing he’s a force in the paint while being able to extend out beyond-the-arc with a good three-point shot. He has good handles for his size and is a slasher towards the basket. Murphy is best at being an aggressive rebounder, crashing the boards hard, and creating second-chance opportunities. He Is an elite shot-blocker and plays strong defense down in the low post. Earned All-District 28-4A First Team.
SF Kade Killeen – 5A St. Michaels Catholic Academy (TAAPS)
As a tall and long forward prospect, Killeen dominated TAAPS 5A District 4 during his junior campaign as a sharpshooting specialist. Killeen can light it up from beyond-the-arc and has the ability to catch fire as a catch-and-shoot weapon from three-point territory. Killeen’s shooting range extends all across the floor as he has shown he can hit from the corner, top of the key, and on either wing. Earned TAAPS All-District 4-5A First Team, and TAAPS 5A All-State Honorable Mention.
SF Trenton Jackson – St. Andrews Episcopal (Southwest Prep)
The first word that comes to mind when watching Jackson’s hudl tape is: explosive. Jackson explodes in and out of his cuts and has great vertical burst when going towards the rim or bringing down rebounds. He plays physical in the low post and shows good strength when playing against bigger opponents. On offense, he has good movement skills in the paint, including an impressive spin move, and is a smooth finisher near the rim. Jackson is also a strong passer who plays with good court vision.
C Keegan Pugh – 4A Geromino Navarro
Standing at 6’8″ with a huge frame, Pugh is one of the taller 2021 prospects from the Austin area. With a smooth mid-range shot and several different post moves including a hook-shot, Pugh is just scratching the surface of his offensive potential. Pugh has shown the ability to finish with either hand and utilizes his size to his advantage in the low post. On defense, Pugh is a brick down low and is hard to get a shot up against.
