– Lewisville High School 6’5
The thing that stood out to me the most is that he knew that he was the best person in the gym, he has a palpable confidence and swagger about his game. He knows how to contort his body to avoid bigger defenders very well. Another aspect of his game that stood out to me was his touch on floaters and runners in the paint, even after a tight spin move to beat a defender. His game reminded me a lot of Devin Booker with his work in the post, yet soft feathery touch in the lane and flame thrower jump shot.
Trey Cheatham- Hebron High School
Trey is an active defender with great instincts to get the ball up the court and put instant pressure on the defense in transition. He knocks down open shots when he gets his feet set. He loves to wreak havoc on the defensive end and likes to put pressure on ball handlers in the full court. I would like to see more work in his handle and ability to finish at the rim, but it is also something that will come with time and experience at the varsity level. He has all the tools to grow into a scrappy “3 and D” guard at the next level.
William Curtis- Lewisville High School 6’3
William is a long guard who finishes well on the fast break. He has an ability to turn easy looks in transition into easy buckets, which he gets an abundance of opportunities to do so while running Lewisville’s scrappy full-court press defense. He is a very confident shooter when he has an opportunity to get his feet set. He is comfortable operating on the wing and in the corner. For his age, he showed a real awareness of spacing and how to operate on the offensive end of the floor and should only get exponentially better from here.
Devank Rane- Coppell High School
Devank is a smaller guard with a very quick release and confidence and ability to knock down open shots when given space. In his limited time on the varsity court this past season, Rane made the most of it playing tenacious on-ball defense and coming up with steals to jump-start Coppell’s offense. He played well when pushing the ball up the court and made the right decision when given different looks on how to break full-court pressure.
