While it’s still too early to put together a fair numerical ranking for these young prospects, we did come up with an 85-player watchlist of guys to keep an eye on over the next three years.
Earlier this week we posted a four-part series of who could potentially crack the top 5-10 spots if we did decide to publish a true ranking, based on first-year performance and long-term potential. Below we take a look at more players to track over the next three seasons.
Osiris Nalls Osiris Nalls 6'4" | PG Sierra Canyon | 2023 State CA-S , Viewpoint – Nalls is another talented young guard for Viewpoint. What we like about him is his shooting ability as the 5-foot-11 combo guard looks to always be shot-ready, gets good lift and has a smooth and high follow through.
Curtis Williams Curtis Williams 6'6" | SF Etiwanda | 2023 State #159 Nation CA-S , Etiwanda – Williams played on the JV squad at Etiwanda and showed that he has a good all-around feel and basketball IQ. The 6-foot-2 guard can play both on or off the ball, has good size for the position, and should be a varsity-level guy for the Eagles next season.
Cyprian Hyde Cyprian Hyde 6'10" | C Vista | 2023 State CA-S , Vista – Hyde is another JV to Varsity guy in these evaluations who probably could’ve earned some top level minutes last season, but still needed to get used to the physicality of the game. Hyde is a skilled 6-foot-9 center with good hands and touch around the basket. He can also stretch the floor to the three-point line.
Dennis Evans Dennis Evans 6'10" | C Riverside Hillcrest | 2023 CA-S , Riverside Hillcrest – Evans is one of a handful of intriguing big men in the 2023 class. The 6-foot-11 center showed steady progress throughout his freshman campaign as more minutes turned into more production. Evans averaged five points, eight rebounds and an impressive 3.3 blocks per game last season.
