#11: Jaden Phillips/6’5/CG/Modesto Christian:
High-flying is a good way to describe Phillips. He has some serious bounce and isn’t shy about showing it off. He makes it look simple when he throws it down. I wish I could say that. He brings so much more to his game, than just dunking though. He is an acrobat at the rim. Reverse layups, switching hands, doing whatever is need to get the bucket. Also, he can step outside and shoot it well. His release could become a bit faster, but when he has time, he shoots the three-ball at a high percentage. On defense, he gets in the lane of passes and has a very strong IQ. Jaden knows his assignments and can run them to success. He’s a leader on and off the court. He currently holds two offers, one from UTEP and the other being the nearby school, as in Fresno State.
#12: Jarin Edwards/6’3/SF/Bishop O’Dowd:
Quick in the transition game, Edwards can really fly up and down the court. He loves to move the pace, and get on his horse and get going. His vision of the game is unique. He likes to throw the long ball to his teammates to complete a play. Driving to the hoop is hard for only being 6’3, but he makes up for it because he can finish with either hand. His airtime is good, as well. In addition, Jarin can run several defenses. He can pick up full court while being just as strong as playing man. He holds a chip on his shoulder and can get the job done in several different parts of the game. Listed as an SF/PG, but he could truly turn himself into an SF if he grows a couple of inches. Expecting big things for him.
#13: Mi’Son Coilton/6’3/CG/Weston Ranch:
Coilton has a lot of upside to his game. First, he has exceptional handles and can maneuver his way past his opponents and get a bucket. When he gets the rack, no one is going to stop him. His finishes are exceptional. Also, he has a unique type of release, but that doesn’t stop him from draining shots. He can hit NBA three’s, without a doubt. Extremely nice passer as well, and can thread the needle for dimes. He has made several no-look and behind the back passes, so I’m assuming a Top10 play on SportsCenter soon. Mi’Son has lots of potential for his senior year.
#14: Lendi Henderson/6’6/SG/Bakersfield:
If you’re looking for a kid who is going to put it on all on the court, Henderson is your match. Tumbling and diving to get a 50/50 ball, trying to save a ball from going out of bounds, or just hustling in general, he will give you that. He has a nice spin move in his arsenal, which was super effective last season. He is a lengthy 6’6 guard, who snags rebounds over shorter and even taller guys because he is super athletic. He has soft hands and can grab errant passes, and ultimately finish. Super tough on defense to get around, and loves to scrap and scrap some more. His outside shot could be improved, but once he spends more time on that, Lendi is an all-around player.
#15: Ja’Rod Webb/6’2/SG/Florin:
Webb can really hit the long ball at ease. He is a dead-eye shooter with limitless range. Being 6’2, he has the ability to run the point at a high and successful rate. He is a crafty player and can finish with his left or right hand. In addition, Webb has a strong sense of the court. He can hit an open teammate to create a better shot for the team. On the other side of things, Ja’Rod is a pest on defense. Getting his hands dirty is high on his list, and he really bothers his opponents. The guard is a very good player and I’m expecting him to thrive in his senior year.
