Continue ReadingNapa and Marin County has long been an area where you can find good prospects representing NorCal basketball. This group C/O of 2021 prospects are a rising group who has started to open some eye’s in the North Bay Counties. I will get the opportunity to evaluate this group further with the grassroots season looking more and more likely we’ll get back in the gym.
Braden Greenlee 6’1 Guard Napa HS (Napa, CA)
Greenlee has had a breakout season. The combo shooting guard has raised his game and is a player to watch. He averaged 19.7 ppg, 4.3 rebs, 2.4 stls, and 2.1 asts. A season high of 39 pts, and going 20/20 at the free throw line in one game is pretty impressive. He has good body control and uses it to draw fouls on the drive. He plays under control, has good movement without the ball and uses screens to free himself up for good quick release jumpers. He recognizes the double and and makes good passes to cutting teammates. He’ll be playing with NBBA North Bay and is getting some DI interest.
Gabe Patrick Gabe Patrick 6'2" | SG American Canyon | 2021 State CA-N 6’3 Combo Guard. American Canyon HS, (American Canyon, CA)
Patrick is an athletic player with that quick twitch. He’s going to get better. His skill set is coming along nicely. On offense he uses that quick twitch muscle that allows him to go by defenders, usually to the basket where he can absorb contact and finish strong around and above the rim.The athletic guard has all the makings of a top notch defender, a strong body, long arms, good footspeed to move laterally, and an attitude. A player to keep an eye on. A decent shooting form, expanding his range, will see his stock will rise.
Dylan Hayman 6’5 Wing/Post. Healdsburg HS ( Healdsburg, CA)
Hayman sports a 3.7 GPA in the classroom, and will play along side Greenlee for NBBA an AAU Program in the North Bay. A long body prospect who is still growing and will raise his game if he can add muscle to his frame. A high IQ player, he doesn’t have a lot of speed, but is an effective player who can play outside and in the post. He’s comfortable playing the wings, he has good vision and passing, and can put it on the floor to get to the rim. He shoot 3’s, and works well in the post. He’s a double double guy. 23 ppg, 10 rebs. A good upside.
Tyson Geraci Tyson Geraci 6'0" | CG San Marin | 2021 State CA-N 6’2 Combo Guard, San Marin HS, (Novato, CA)
A first team All Marin County selection. Playing for a team that didn’t have a winning season, Geraci got the opportunity to showcase his individual skills. He was the teams leading scorer with 20.7 per game. He’s a confident player who puts it on the line every game win or lose. He’s not only a player who can score in multiple ways, but he finds ways to involve teammates with all the attention he gets, he has good court vision and passing skills, his ability to handle double teams consistently are impressive. He doesn’t have great speed on defense but is generally in good position to help or take a charge.
Josh Lemley Josh Lemley 6'5" | SF Cloverdale | 2021 State CA-N 6’6 Forward/Post, Cloverdale HS (Cloverdale, CA)
Lemley a two sport athlete (Baseball) is a big body prospect that’s uses his body well around the post area. Not gifted with great speed he has good fundamentals, passing , screening and rolling to the basket with hands up making it easier for his guards to find him, his jump hook in the paint looks to be a solid go to move for him. His scoring and rebounding averages put him in the double, double club 17.8 ppg, 11.7 rebs. His presence in the paint produced 5 blocks per game good solid numbers. He’ll face a higher level of competition on the grassroots circuit.
