Paul Bruns of Dakota Valley (6’4, SG). Some may look at the roster and say “who is handling the ball?” Don’t get looked onto the positions as many of these players can play dual roles, like North Dakota committed Paul Bruns for example. This is a first team all state player that averaged 28.7 points,12.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
Brady Fritz of Winner (6’2 SG). Another first team Class A All State player that can play dual roles from a Class A team in South Dakota. Fritz averaged 27.6 point, 6.8 rebound, and three assist a game this past season showcasing a combination of skill and agility that should net him scholarship options.
Jay Jurgens of Brandon Valley (6’8, C). Jurgens is a low post player waiting on his time, and now may be that time. This Attack team has plenty of size, but Jay is one of the few low post players, one of the few true hard screeners, and one of the few low post true center position battlers. We look forward to seeing how Jay plays within that role.
Jake Layman of Sergeant-Bluff, IA (6’7 SF). Layman is the 18th ranked player in the state of Iowa’s 2021 class. He averaged 11 points a game for a 16-11 team this season shooting 44 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the foul line.
Majok Majouk of Sergeant-Bluff, IA (6’7 PF). Majok provided his team with seven points and six rebounds a game as a top 50 2021 talent in the state of Iowa. Majok was recently offered a scholarship by Sioux Falls. He shot 49 percent from the field and made a third of his treys this season.
Matthew Mors of Yankton (6’7 SF). “Matthew Mors is going to play with this team” and “Matthew Mors is going to play with that team” is what kept floating through the rumor mill. Whatever. This is a hard working, loyal young man that is nationally ranked and will head to Wisconsin when his high school days are done. Averaged 19.4 points and 8.2 boards a game for a top South Dakota team despite injuries and illness. Looking forward to see what he can do against other top Midwest players.
Tanner TeSlaa of Boyden-Hull, IA (6’4 SF). Tanner is coming off an outstanding season leading Boyden-Hull to a 24-3 season while leading the team in scoring (17 a game), assists, steals, and boards (5.4 a game). Tanner scored on 54 percent of his attempts and 43 percent of threes despite being defended as a top playmaker.
Xavier Van Beek of Sioux Falls Christian (6’0 SG). There are a lot of playmakers on this team and when they draw defenders Van Beek will be setting up ready to make the defense pay. A good feet set shooter and has a nice tough on the move. Honorable mention Dak-XII player this year.
