Drew Carter Drew Carter 6'3" | SG Tigard | 2021 OR , Tigard – Ranked #5
A lot was expected out of Carter this season with the graduation of several seniors, notably Stevie Schlabach, and the 6-foot-3 wing more than delivered. He ended up ranking second in the state in scoring and while he used his picture-perfect jumper to knock down shots as usual, he also created off the dribble and use his athleticism to finish at the rim. The TRL Player of the Year and First Team 6A All-State honoree has already picked up a couple of D-I hoops scholarship offers but with a rising level of recruitment for college football, the gridiron may be where he ends up at the next level.
Darius Gakwasi Darius Gakwasi 6'5" | SG Central Catholic | 2021 State OR , Central Catholic – #6
Incredibly skilled, Gakwasi helped lead the Rams charge to the state tournament and led the team in scoring and rebounding while finishing second in assists. At 6-foot-5 he’s got great size on the wing, the versatility and skills to play multiple positions both inside and out, and the ability to defend just about anyone on the high school level. Gakwasi shot the ball really well from deep this past year (over 44 percent) and was poised to have a big year on the AAU circuit before the lockdown. D-I programs from all over including the Pac-12 have shown interest.
Nathan Meithof Nathan Meithof 6'5" | SG McNary | 2021 State OR , McNary – #8
No longer an unknown, Meithof emerged as a junior and led the state in scoring for much of the year. The 6-foot-4 lefty is at his best creating off the dribble and utilizing his size and strength advantage over opponents to finish at the rim, but he can also knock down threes as a decent percentage (over 42 percent). The co-MVC player of the year is tough on the glass on both ends and was always a threat to grab a defensive board and take it coast-to-coast. Big Sky and WCC programs have been showing interest.
Elijah Munyan Elijah Munyan 6'3" | SG Gresham | 2021 State OR , Gresham – #15
Munyan is arguably one of – if not the top run-and-jump athlete in the Class of 2021. The 6-foot-3 guard simply plays above the rim and is often times an alley-oop threat, especially in transition. Munyan’s skills continue to develop with his perimeter shooting and ability to create off of the dribble, and at the high school level his athleticism allows him to really make an impact on the defensive end, especially on the help side blocking shots. His athletic ability and potential continue to intrigue college programs.
Brady Grier Brady Grier 6'5" | SF Westview | 2021 State OR , Westview – Ranked #18
Grier had a rock-solid junior campaign as a contributor on a very balance Westview team. At 6-foot-5 with a solid build, he made an impact around the basket but he capably stepped out and hit threes either the catch-and-shoot variety or coming off of screens. Grier has a good pull-up jumper off a couple of dribbles and will battle on the boards.
