Damontae Burns Damontae Burns 6'1" | CG Parkrose | 2021 State OR , Parkrose – Ranked #10
Burns is one of the more athletic players in the entire Class of 2021 in the state of Oregon. The 6-foot-1 guard can really get up and down the floor in transition and will finish with flair are the rim. His quickness is evident on both ends of the floor, with a quick crossover dribble and the ability to use his hands and feet effectively on defense. Burns can really get hot from the outside and has deep range on his jumper and while he may settle for the jumper at times, he is more than capable of getting to the basket and involving his teammates.
Luke Smith Luke Smith 6'3" | CG Willamette | 2021 State OR , Willamette – #13
Smith had a tremendous junior season in which he showed that he’s one of the most dangerous scorers in the state at any level. The now 6-foot-3 guard can do it practically anywhere on the court, whether it’s flashing off his deadeye outside shot, creating off of the dribble and pulling up, hitting floaters in the lane, or using his strong frame to overpower defenders inside. Smith’s recruitment is just getting started as he’s been in contact with a number of D-II, D-III, and NAIA schools.
Josh Baugher Josh Baugher 6'6" | CG Santiam Christian | 2021 State OR , Santiam Christian – #14
Baugher unfortunately missed much of his junior season due to a knee injury. But he’s a guard with size at 6-foot-6 and has been working on developing himself as a point guard for the next level. The in-state schools are aware of him and much of his recruitment fairly or unfairly will depend on his rehab and comeback for his senior season.
Michael Lundy Michael Lundy 6'1" | CG Philomath | 2021 OR , Philomath – #24
We didn’t get a chance to see Lundy live in action this past season but have gotten the opportunity to evaluate him on film. He’s 6-foot-2, athletic, and versatile as evidenced by the fact he plays multiple positions on the football field, including quarterback. Lundy has a pretty smooth lefty stroke with a quick release, especially off the catch-and-shoot, and is capable of also creating a bit off the dribble. He plays hard and is active on the defensive end.
Jha-Barrie Portis Jha-Barrie Portis 6'1" | CG Southridge | 2021 State OR , Southridge – #25
Southridge had a tough year but Portis was one of the bright spots. The 6-foot-1 guard was expected to take on a huge role with the departure of several seniors and he fit the bill, leading the Skyhawks in scoring. The lefty is athletic in taking it to the basket and has been improving with his consistency on his outside shot. Portis also plays with one of the higher motors in the class.
