Shawn Reckley (2022) | Hackensack
Reckley set the tone for his career early on in his sophomore season. He made 68 three’s this season so he is no longer a surprise. He scored 14 points per game in his second season. When Reckley steps on the floor, opposing defenses better have a hand in his face.
Niko Ruffin Niko Ruffin 5'10" | PG Paramus Catholic | 2021 State NJ (2021) | Paramus Catholic
Paramus Catholic is one of the top programs in Bergen County and Ruffin was a big time player for them. He led the way with 54 three’s and provided an outside threat to pair with Derrick Bueno Derrick Bueno 6'7" | PF Roselle Catholic | 2021 State NJ on the inside. Ruffin will return for his senior season as one of the top deep ball threats to keep an eye on.
Jaden Castro (2021) | Hasbrouck Heights
Hasbrouck Heights won 20 games this season and they have two key returning players for 2020-2021. One of them is Castro. He was the team’s leading three-point shooter with 57. He averaged just under three makes per game. Castro has a smooth looking shot from the outside and he can get open easily.
Roland Leiva (2021) | Lodi
Lodi had a tough season but something that emerged as a star. He averaged just over 18 points per game this season and led Lodi in three’s made and free throws made. He is a player that is constantly active on both ends, especially the offensive side.
Taj Collins (2021) | Bogota
Collins was one of the top shooters in the county. He was part of a balanced offensive attack for Bogota. He took care of the work from deep. Collins led the team with 60 made three’s this season. He has a smooth and confident stroke from deep and is not afraid to let if fly.
Julian Brown Julian Brown 6'1" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2022 State NJ (2022) | Bergen Catholic
A Bergen Catholic guard lands on another list. Anyone surprised? Brown is a big time player. He shows up when lights are brightest. Brown can score at all three levels and this includes from deep. He knocked down 40 three’s this season and was an elite foul shooter. Skill, confidence, class. Brown is three-for-three.
Zack Cook (2021) | Garfield
Cook scored over 13 points per game for Garfield as a junior. He was a dnamic player at all three levels but excelled from deep. He also knew how to get in the lane and draw contact. Cook was a strong finisher and had a smooth shot from the free throw line. He will return for his senior season as one of Garfield’s top options.
Christopher Dark (2021) | Dwight-Morrow
There are certain players with an elite skill in one area and that is Dark. He will be the top returning shooter and Dwight-Morrow next season. He can be found on the perimeter finding an open spot. He moves well without the ball and knows how to use off the ball screens to get open and get off his quick release.
