#20 Cooper Macaulay (2022) | 6-5 | Fort Worth Christian High School:
This sharpshooter is one of the top bucket getters in Fort Worth. The combination of extreme confidence and elite scoring instincts make Cooper a dangerous player and a really tough player to guard. He has good smooth handles and footwork, always capable of getting to his spots. Cooper excels when creating for himself and shooting off the dribble, he has a quick trigger jumper with incredible range. No matter how tough a defender you put on him he’s still going to find a way to put points on the board. Cooper uses up and under moves, pump fakes, and stepbacks to get the defense off-balance and then get his shot off. He also utilizes his size and length well enough to get through the lane, draw contact, and get to the foul line. This kid is always in attack mode, he shot over 40% and is only becoming more efficient. Cooper’s offensive upside is through the roof, he even shows flashes on the defensive end as well. Cooper Macaulay has the skillset to be more than just a shooter or scorer, if he continues to learn the game and develop his IQ there’s no telling where his talents will take him.
#19 Jackson Waggoner Jackson Waggoner 6'2" | SG Grapevine | 2021 State TX (2022) | 6-1 | Grapevine High School:
This legit 3-point specialist may just be the best 3-point shooter in all of Texas. Jackson is one of the best catch and shoot players that you will find, almost automatic. He played against some of the best competition in Dallas/Fort Worth this season and still hit over 100 3-pointers while shooting at a 40% clip. Waggoner is a very poised and patient shooter, even when guys are flying at him trying to block his shot, he uses pump fakes and side steps well to his advantage. He’s a flat out knockdown shooter from every angle, whether he’s falling or leaning he’ll still shoot it the same way and make it. You must keep a hand in Jackson Waggoner Jackson Waggoner 6'2" | SG Grapevine | 2021 State TX ‘s face at all times, he always has the green light and will not hesitate to let it fly. It’s pretty scary to think about just how deadly of a shooter he will be by the end of his high school career.
#18 Patrick Caero (2021) | 6-3 | Trinity Valley School:
Patrick Caero is by far one of the most skilled players in all of Dallas. He does just about everything on the court, he’s a very good rebounder for his position, he can score in every way possible, and he can be an effective facilitator. He carried the team on his back all year and put up crazy numbers against some of the toughest teams and players in the metroplex. He was all over the court and stuffed the stat sheet every night this past season, averaging over 23 points, 4 assists, and 7 boards per game. He already has pure scoring abilities, he’s a knockdown shooter from each spot on the court whether he’s pulling up, spotting up, or coming off a screen, but his best ability is getting to the basket. Caero creates space and gets to his spots with ease, really crafty handles, and good enough size to shield off shot blockers when attacking. Patrick displays exceptional playmaking abilities with the way he’s able to find his teammates, some of the passes he makes will blow you away. Great outlet passer, he can launch the ball the full length of the court with spot-on accuracy. His knack for lighting up the scoreboard any given night is what makes him such a premier player. Patrick Caero is a true competitor that plays hard no matter what the score is, and everything he brings to the table results in wins.
#17 Dean Balo Dean Balo 6'3" | SG J.J. Pearce | 2023 State TX (2023) | 6-3 | Richardson JJ Pearce High School:
A true gamechanger, anytime he’s in the game he’s an instant sparkplug for his team on both ends of the court. Offensively, Dean is an automatic bucket that can score in a multitude of ways, he’s a good spot-up shooter with slick handles that’ll break any defender down, making him a tough player to keep from getting to the rack. He’s excellent when it comes to moving around the perimeter and always staying ready to shoot. If you allow him to catch the ball with his feet in position you’re going to be in trouble. His range is deep and his shot is becoming purer game by game. Defensively, he has extremely quick feet, high awareness, and he’s not overly aggressive. Balo does a great job of staying in front of his man and keeping his eyes on the ball. He plays the passing lanes perfectly, his next-level anticipation and active hands help him come up with plenty of steals. Dean is the type of player college coaches should recruit early, he has a very well rounded game for a freshman. He’s on his way to becoming an ultimate threat as he gains more experience and continues to develop his IQ. Dean Balo Dean Balo 6'3" | SG J.J. Pearce | 2023 State TX is one of the top rising stars in the city and there’s no doubt that he’ll be a top-five player on this list next season.
#16 Jordan Roberts Jordan Roberts 6'2" | SG South Grand Prairie | 2021 State TX (2021) | 6-3 | South Grand Prairie High School:
Top of the line shooting guard with all-around offensive talents. His jump shot is a thing of beauty, his release is quick and consistent, and his balance and form are impeccable. Jordan shows very high IQ off the ball, his feel for the game is what sets him apart. He has mastered the art of moving without the ball, he’s constantly catching defenders off guard and getting open, it seems like he always knows exactly where to be and when to be there. He’s an excellent fastbreak threat, great lateral speed, and always looking to get out in front of the defense in transition and finish. Jordan relishes the clutch moments, he’s someone willing and ready to step up and make a big play when needed most.
