Colleges too are looking to get younger and snatch up younger and younger players early in their careers, so they continue to dispense offers at an alarming rate. To help you keep up with who is being offered what, here is the next installment of The Latest.
Roddy Gayle | Lewiston Porter High School
5/2/20: Gayle receives an offer from Marquette University
4/22/20: Gayle receives an offer from Ohio State University
Player Analysis: Roddy Gayle is a great player in all aspects of the game, but once he gets the ball, he is electric. He is willing to execute risky passes since his practice assures him it will pay off. He can drive to the rim against any defender and shake off a double team or three consecutives, and he is even capable at shooting from distance, both off a pass and off his dribble.
Damani Barley | East High School
4/3/20: Barley receives an offer from Siena University
Player Analysis: Damani has every quality a point guard needs to succeed. He can be tenacious on defense, where he can spread his range to the entire defenders and force turnovers just with his presence. On offense, he can play off-ball, but his greatest accomplishments are on the ball, where he can confuse defenders on his way to the rim, with a mid-range shot always as a possibility. Damani also knows how to run the offense, and consistently plays as an above-average playmaker.
Jalen Bradberry | The Park School of Buffalo
5/26/20: Bradberry receives an offer from Hofstra University
5/13/20: Bradberry receives an offer from St. Johns University
5/13/20: Bradberry receives an offer from the University of Massachusetts.
Player Analysis: If there is a guy you want to handle the ball on offense, it should be Jalen Bradberry. Bradberry can be at the right place at the right time on defense, so once his team secures the rebound, it’s Bradberry that goes off to the races and starts a fastbreak. Bradberry can command the floor even with a standstill defense, while he has his own above-average jump shot.
Jaden Bradley | Cannon School
5/6/20: Bradley receives an offer from Louisville University
5/11/20: Bradley receives an offer from Michigan University
Player Analysis: Jaden Bradley is a special type of point guard. Bradley can be a leader for his team both on the floor and off it. On the floor, Bradley has shown true finesse in his ability to get to the rim, whether it’s through his quick but accurate dribbling or his speed changes.
Kyle Cuffe Jr. | Blair Academy
5/18/20: Cuffe receives an offer from Texas A&M
5/20/20: Cuffe receives an offer from Kansas State
Player Analysis: If there is one player who should be called a scorer, it should be Cuffe. Cuffe is able to get to the rim in a variety of ways, with each being as successful as the last. Cuffe can take the rock into the den and either get sent to the line or take his two points. He can also destroy them from the outside, with his expansive range to deep three-point range.
