These prospects played in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) from the 6A classification. Congrats to all these prospects listed below.
Gavin Thornton – Trinity Christian Academy Addison – 2021
The guard out of Addison was a true threat this year on the court averaging 14 points a game. Right off the bat, Thornton came in and dropped 25 points in the first game of the season which would just be the start of the success he had this past winter. He led Trinity Christian to a 21-12 record on the year finishing third in one of the hardest districts in all of TAPPS. This was a district that included Argyle Liberty as well as the final four Midland Christian team. One of the most spectacular performances of the year came when TCA faced against the best team in TAPPS, John Paul II. That night, Gavin was able to score a total of 17 points as well as show that the Addison boys were no joke to mess around with. Look out for Thornton in his senior where he shall look to take Trinity Christian back to the playoffs once again.
Jacob Millhouse – Prestonwood Christian Academy – 2021
Talk about a player that is underrated in many different regards. The guard from the Plano powerhouse of Prestonwood Christian averaged 16 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3 apg. If that already doesn’t speak to the volume of how good of an overall player he was then this will. Millhouse scored 27 and 25 points back to back nights against two incredible public school teams. One of those teams being Austin Vandergrift where Greg Brown Greg Brown 6'8" | PF Vandegrift | 2020 State #4 Nation TX , the number one 2020 prospect in the state, goes to. In that game, Millhouse led his team to a 10 point win, and then one game later he led his team to defeat a tough Denton Braswell team in the final minutes of the game. Jacob also had an outstanding performance against the SPC champion, St. Marks, where he scored 29 points in a game that had 174 total points scored. Jacob will look to go into his senior season facing the challenge of defeating their Plano rival, John Paul II, in order to advance to further in the playoffs.
Bradley Land – Argyle Liberty Christian – 2021
The 6’4 small forward from Argyle proves to be one of the strongest players in the DFW area, but this is not because of his physical strength. In fact, this is because Bradley has to play one of the toughest schedules, yet he still leads his team by becoming one of the most effective scorers in TAPPS 6A. Argyle Liberty faces a schedule that consists of many different large public school teams, and although one may look at their 15-17 record and think low of them, they would actually be wrong. This is because Land lead this team by scoring 30 points against Bishop Dunne as well as 23 points against Abilene. Bradley and his team finished 2nd in their outstandingly competitive district due to games like the Trinity Christian Addison game where he had 24 points. As another rising senior on this list, Land is a scorer to look out for in the winter of this year.
Nathan Dominick – John Paul II – 2020
A star from a team already full of talent, Nathan is an all-around player that can be a scorer as well as a great defender. This year he averaged a solid 12 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. Although some people looked past Dominick when looking at the talented JPII roster, he proved them wrong by getting buckets and boards. Throughout a five-game span, he had at least 19 in three of them which just proved his dominance to college scouts. The state champion has just graduated from John Paul II, and he will playing at Claremont McKenna College in the winter.
Jalen Tot Jalen Tot 5'10" | PG John Paul II | 2020 State TX – John Paul II – 2020
Another outstanding player on the JPII roster makes this list. The guard was an elite player when it came to getting buckets scored for the Cardinals this year as he averaged 12 points per game with nights where he scored in the twenties. One of those nights was the first game of the year where he scored 27 against the TAPPS 5A back to back state champions. Since that game, he was able to drop 20 plus points in at least 4 of the next eight games against public and private powerhouse schools. The guard was apart of the senior leadership that led JPII to a 29-1 record as well as a state championship ring. Jalen is in fact a twin brother of another guy on the team, and both of them are signed to play at Dawson Community College this upcoming season.
