And normally the month of May is normally the free-agent period in grassroots as teams re-gear up for the Summer. Here are 6 prospects regardless of graduating class who would’ve made an impact.

Jon-Jon had a really big junior campaign for St. Thomas Catholic and is transferring to play at Legacy for his senior season next year to play on a national schedule. Although he just picked up his first D1 offer just on yesterday he would’ve had a big spring grassroots season with Team Harden on the Adidas Circuit 3SSB. He attacks the basket really strong and finishes well through contact. Solid on baseline drives and from the wing. He has a decent dribble pull-up package to his game as well. Long arms and a quick bounce off the court. He was set to have a big spring.

Jake’s name has been buzzing around the state since last July. He had a great junior high school season where he led his team in every statistical category. He is a big-time shooter from deep and also has a tough dribble pull-up game in the mid-range game. He is really gotten more comfortable with the ball in his hands to run things for a squad, so look for him to possibly make a position change within his recruitment. He plays grassroots ball with Texas TakeOver Elite – Kemp and they are a Prep Hoops Circuit affiliate. He was going to have a big spring, most teams were going to focus on him as just a shooter but he was going to showcase his ability to run the show as well.
Anthony Ferguson Jr 6’4” SG • Cypress Park • 2021
AJ is a long and athletic two-guard. He is solid in the catch and shoots situations with a quick release on his jumper. He also has the ability to play above the rim. A solid on-ball defender with great length and ability to alter his opponent’s shots. He will become his high school, all-time leading scorer, next school year for his senior campaign. He was ready to make a statement this spring for his grassroots team the Houston Raptors who plays on the Prep Hoops Circuit. AJ currently has a D3 offer on the table but has interest from colleges at the D2 level as well. He has the skill set to play D1 but coaches want to know if he’s a dawg and he was ready to show them this Spring leading into the Summer.

Brian aka “BB” continues to have really big high school seasons for his school after his sophomore campaign and being the leading scorers two consecutive seasons for the Falcons. He is a big-time shot-maker and can create his own shot from various spots on the floor. His grassroots season last year wasn’t the best but this year he was looking forward to leaving his impression on the court with college coaches. He was going to play on Nike’s E16 level with either JL3 or Houston Hoops.
Kevin Destin 6’4” SG • Houston Austin • 2022
Kevin is a very athletic two that has great elevation on his jumper and despite his slender frame has good strength and can finish through contact. He had a really good sophomore year and was looking to get his name out there amongst the college coaches. He hadn’t made a decision on what team he was going to play with for the spring/summer season, but whoever he was going to run with he would’ve had a prominent grassroots season leaving his mark.
Ryan Moore 6’4” SG • Cypress Ranch • 2022
Ryan is a corner specialist. Don’t leave this prospect in the corner with any room at all to get his shot off. He is a big shot maker from all over the perimeter in general as he led the varsity team in three-pointers made and percentage on the season. He has a nice handle as well and can create a little off the dribble. He was going to leave a big impression this grassroots season as he was running with Team Harden on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
