Now it’s time we combine all of the classes to come up with master list of the regions prospects regardless of class. In this piece we take a look at the best forward/center prospects the region has to offer from the classes of 2021, 2022 and 2023.
1. Kijani Wright Kijani Wright 6'8" | PF Sierra Canyon | 2022 State #63 Nation CA-S , 2022, Windward: Wright is a bouncy, physical and active power forward who continued to improve as a rebounder and shot blocker during his sophomore season. Wright has a good set of hands that allow him to catch and finish in traffic and the strength to absorb and finish through contact in the paint.
2. Wilhelm Breidenbach Wilhelm Breidenbach 6'8" | PF Mater Dei | 2021 State #91 Nation CA-S , 2021, Mater Dei: Breidenbach does a little bit of everything on the hardwood. The high motor four-man can stretch the floor to the three-point line, clean the defensive glass, lead the break and make a high IQ decision on the fly. The 6-foot-8 rising senior is also an ambidextrous finisher around the basket.
3. Jeremiah Nyarko Jeremiah Nyarko 6'7" | PF St. John Bosco | 2022 State #209 Nation CA-S , St. John Bosco: Nyarko is still fairly raw from a skill standpoint, but there’s no denying his motor, athleticism and body control at 6-feet-8. The junior-to-be has a couple of things you can’t teach when it comes to crashing the boards on both ends and running the floor with purpose. Nyarko is a fast-improving rim protector who is quickly developing defensive timing.
4. Shy Odom Shy Odom 6'6" | PF Sierra Canyon | 2022 State #237 Nation CA-S , 2022, Sierra Canyon: Odom did all the dirty work for the star-laden Trailblazers squad. The 6-foot-6 four man is one of the best offensive rebounders in the region and possesses the strength and physicality to power through opposing bigs for paint finishes. One of Odom’s best attributes is his ability to switch out onto guards when switching ball-screens or hedging and recovering to his assignment.
5. Koat Keat Koat Keat 6'9" | PF Crean Lutheran | 2022 State #100 Nation CA-S , 2022, Renaissance Academy: Keat is one of the more intriguing forwards in SoCal because of his perimeter skill set to go along with his wiry 6-foot-9 frame. The rising junior is a high rate defensive rebounder who can push the break, get downhill in transition, and finish craftily around the basket. Keat has the ball skills and elusiveness to break down a defender in isolation and work his way to a paint bucket.
