Lehi isn’t the only school that has talent as Alta brings back a solid core and a chance for some young talented players to get on the floor. Then you move over to the south where you have Timpview who has a shot at the whole thing next season with a mixture of talent and experience with some youth as well. Timpanogos another school nearby is also bringing back a good team that will compete with some talented players coming back and some that will assert themselves as well. Mountain View was a surprise last season and they look like they won’t surprise anyone but they have some guys coming back. Mountain Ridge and Orem look to keep pace with a loaded region.
Timpview looks like they will be the team to beat. I don’t think people realize how good Coleman Ford Coleman Ford 5'10" | PG Timpview | 2021 State UT and Jake Wahlin Jake Wahlin 6'8" | SF Timpview | 2021 State #150 Nation UT really are. This combo puts so much pressure on defenses as Coleman can get his teammates involved but also score from all over the floor. Jake’s versatile game hasn’t been overlooked as he has racked up the Division 1 offers. Timpview has some young talent that will have trouble getting minutes but they have some talented players for some time to come in the pipeline.
Lehi might think that they are getting overlooked, especially coming off of a Region Championship and with the addition of a fantastic coach with a great resume but with size a lone they might have to depend on scoring in the perimeter more than not. Lehi has a player in Noa Gonsalvez that has that special type of game. He is that player that can take over. Tyson Hawkins Tyson Hawkins 6'4" | PG Lehi | 2021 State UT a 6’5 multi-purpose player that can really play ball. All though Lehi might not have a big that is proven but they do have some solid size across the board.
Alta is another team that has a shot to make noise with some solid prospects coming back this up-coming year. The Hawks are lead by Jaden Brownell Jaden Brownell 6'8" | SF Alta | 2021 State UT who has size and a lot of skill. He has Division 1 talent and size with a 6’8 frame. He will be able to prove himself in region play alone. They will need a lot of players to step up. Look for Jett Lundberg Jett Lundberg 6'2" | PG Alta | 2022 State UT and Jaxon Hieden to pick up the slack.
Timpanogos is another team that will be a tough out. With Jaxon Holcombe coming back they will need Gavin Scott to really pick it up. Mountain View, Orem and Mountain Ridge all have abilities to play well but they will be underdogs against the top 4 programs in the region.
Region 7 should be competative from top to bottom. Having some solid wins out of region will be important when it comes to the RPI Rankings.
