After an all conference season in both football and basketball, Reece is preparing for his senior year. In whatever way he can find.
“It has been different for sure,” Reece said. “I have been trying to do as much working out as I can, I have a friend who has some workout equipment and that’s where I have been getting most of my workouts in. As far as basketball goes I have been able to get in the gym still and do as much as I can!”
Burckhard was hoping to spend his spring and summer months playing in front of college coaches and earning opportunity. Right now he’s just taking things day by day.
“Right now it’s kind of hard to say when, I am still getting in the gym and trying to keep everything going,” Reece said. “It’s just a bit different not being able to play AAU because I feel that’s where I improved the most over the course of the year.
“Right now for the team I plan to play with it’s kind of up in the air, nothing is really certain. We are hoping to be able to play some tournaments in July and August.”
Burckhard is hearing more from football programs than basketball teams at this point but that is/was likely to change during the 17u season.
“For basketball, I’m mainly hearing from North Dakota. I was hoping to hear from some more after this AAU season but everything is a bit messed up right now. As far as football goes I am hearing from South Dakota State, North Dakota, Northern State, and a little bit from University of Sioux Falls and North Dakota State.
“I have taken one virtual visit through South Dakota State for football.”
