#126 Dominic Brown Dominic Brown 6'2" | CG ECS | 2021 State TN (ECS)
Performed well in ECS’ playoff run. Siding with the state’s second best point guard, Kameron Jones Kameron Jones 6'4" | PG ECS | 2021 State #177 Nation TN , Brown still played a lot on the ball. Brown’s body moves in mysterious ways. His game is kinda slippery and clever, his slashes are unpredictable. Clearly a player who put hours outside of school ball. Many of his finishes resemble playground veterans. Deceptively quick.
#127 Jalen Hooks Jalen Hooks 6'4" | SF Clarksville Northeast | 2021 State TN (Clarksville Northeast)
Northeast is a wonderfully deep basketball program full of athletes. Hooks played wing for the powerful Eagles and finished buckets in a remarkably efficient manner (63.8%). At 6-foot-4, Hooks projects as a wing slasher/rebounder at the small college level. He tugged down 6.9 rebounds per game in 2019-2020.
#128 Nick Deng Nick Deng 6'2" | PG Ravenwood | 2021 State TN (Ravenwood)
Dual-sport star. Nick Deng Nick Deng 6'2" | PG Ravenwood | 2021 State TN played both soccer and basketball in 2019-2020. Dang’s footwork at guard is obviously a strength. Unafraid of contact. Adjusts to whatever the defense throws at him. Great fitness.
#129 Hub Swafford Hub Swafford 6'6" | SF Red Bank | 2021 State TN (Red Bank)
Swafford is a classic forward, with soft touch and size. He does not project well as a wing because his lateral mobility remains suspect. Swafford currently stands 6-foot-6. He just finished his junior season with Red Bank High.
Take a look at his 2019 evaluation done by @PrepHoopsTN. He is now up to 6-foot-5+. His athleticism improved since the following evaluation with his natural physical maturity.
Berean Academy forward Hub Swafford Hub Swafford 6'6" | SF Red Bank | 2021 State TN played AAU with Chattanooga Elite Grey 15u, Their team underwent several significant roster changes during the AAU campaign. Despite the turnover Hub and a couple other forwards remained productive and steady.
Hub is 6-foot-3 with shoes on and weighs 179 pounds. His base is strong but all teenage athletes can get stronger over time. He doesn’t allow defenders to get into his hands and strip the ball loose.
Hub Swafford Hub Swafford 6'6" | SF Red Bank | 2021 State TN is an ideal pick-and-pop guy. He projects as a nice mid-range shooter. Though his requires guards to trust him, which strangers rarely do trust bigs, he will prove his value to teammates in high school and AAU by knocking down those open shots.
Defensively, Hub has wonderful court awareness. The forward sees defensive breakdowns as they happen and typically helps in record time. His presence on the weakside is temporary and always helpful for vulnerable guards. This might be Hub’s greatest basketball mental strength…defensive vision and reaction time.
What Swafford currently lacks is vertical explosion. To give him the best interior look at the basket this is an area for improvement.
Hub’s frame suggests more muscle can rest comfortably under his shoulders. The ideal style of play considering Hub’s talents and limitations would be a strong-shouldered power forward.
It will take more work in the gym and weight room, but he is a technician apparently with good discipline. Plus, Hub shows up for challenges and doesn’t shy away from bigger players.
Hub Swafford Hub Swafford 6'6" | SF Red Bank | 2021 State TN entered October ranked #97 in PrepHoopsTN 2021 player rankings. As many more players are added and Hub’s skills and body change that spot is likely to change.
#130 Dylan Arnold Dylan Arnold 6'3" | CG Jackson Christian | 2021 State TN (Jackson Christian)
Strong junior season statistically. Arnold scored 14.6 points per game. All-District performer. Arnold did play against mostly small, slower players than most TSSAA players do. His numbers need to be considered within this context. Arnold collected about 4 rebounds per contest and assisted 3 times nightly.
