Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several wing prospects coming off a strong junior season who are poised to crack the rankings in the future.
Brennan Brumbaugh, 6’4, G/F, 2021, Goodland
a good-sized wing player who can get up the floor and make plays in transition. He is a solid rebounder and scoring threat both inside and outside and has a good touch around the mid-range area and from 3-point range. A thin player with good shooting mechanics. Brumbaugh averaged 14.4 points, 1.9 assists, 6.4 rebounds and was a strong presence as a defender and earned 3A All-State honorable mention for his efforts.
Cameron Campuzano, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Rural Vista
Campuzano brings physicality and toughness to the floor and can get up and make plays at The rim. He looks to get down the floor quickly in hopes of a transition play but has a good half-court game and can dial shot in and contest shots. a strong team leader who averaged 13.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 6.3 blocks and 2.3 steals per game. A high-value player who dominated the boards and got up and made plays at the rim. An underrated player who earned 1A All-State honorable mention honors last season.
Chas Carlgren, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Concordia
A multiple sport standout who has good athleticism, speed and toughness. He can pop-out and extend plays with his outside shooting and has a nice touch inside as well. Carlgren holds his weight well and has good footwork and is quick to get back on defense. He is good at contesting shots around the rim and can switch out and defend on the perimeter at times. A 3A All-State honorable mention who brings a hard-nosed mentality to the court.
Spencer Davidson, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Minneapolis
Another multiple sport standout who is physical and looks to contest shots and apply pressure to the ball. Davidson has good size at 6’2 and has good speed and versatility on both ends of the floor. He works well with his teammates and he listens to his coach and shows potential has a scoring threat. He is a skilled player with a good upside giving his overall activity.
Kale Purcell, 6’2, G/F, 2021, Holton
Purcell is a solid player who looks to be physical and come down with the ball. He can score, rebound and defend the ball and brings a lot of experience to the hardwood. And multiple sports stand out and a 3A All-State honorable mention, Purcell contributes wherever he can and shows good leadership and an understanding for his position and how to put himself in a position to succeed.
