Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several prospects coming off a strong junior season who are poised to crack the rankings in the future.
Jesse Baxter, 6’3, F, 2021, St. Francis
A strong player who can pass well, rebound and protect the basket. Bacter is a physical player and has good hands and footwork for his position and can body up opponents and overpower them on either side of the floor. Baxter was a 1A All-State honorable mention and proved his value and showed productivity as a scorer, rebounder and all-around defender.
Tyler Dreiling, 6’4, F, 2021, Garden Plain
Dreiling is a quick forward who looks to use his athleticism and strength to his advantage. He has good size at 6’4 and good length and can rebound well and he’s great at playing strong defense and tipping away passes. Dreiling averaged 10.5 points, 1.3 assists, five rebounds, 1.8 steals and one block per game. He’s a workhorse who does the little things but has the solid overall play and leadership that coaches look for in a forward.
Miles Kitselman, 6’5, F/C, 2021, Lyndon
Kitselman is a strong and physical player who has good size and good length. Listed at 6’5, 240-pounds Kitselman has a clear size advantage over a lot of the players in his class. He looks to rebound and can test shots and can also get second-chance points around the glass. He’s aggressive and brings football strength to the hardwood. A good piece for Lyndon and a 2A All-State honorable mention last year.
Dawson Lehman, 6’2, F, 2021, Erie
He is an underrated passer and looks to distribute the ball and make extra passes. He can score, but he looks to rebound and protect the basket. Lehman can play inside and outside and shows good mobility and good footwork for someone who sees time on the wing and inside and around the paint. He’s strong and shows toughness but makes taco place and can help his teammates on both ends of the floor.
Dayton Logan, 6’5, F, 2021, Mission Valley
A good-sized player who does a little bit of everything. He’s listed at 6’5 and has strength, toughness and a nose for the ball. He can score, rebound, contest shots and he plays hard and gets up the floor quickly. He moves well inside and looks to pass and can put himself in position to make plays. He has a good upside as a scorer and is capable of scoring in bunches and controlling the boards on both ends of the floor.
