Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several wing prospects coming off a strong junior season who are poised to crack the rankings in the future.
Bryant Banks, 6’0, CG, 2021, Southeast-Saline
A multiple position and multiple sport standout who plays hard inside the and out. He’s physical and has good footwork and runs the floor and looks to score in transition. He is also good at scoring second chance looks off offensive rebounds. Also a strong defender who is physical and plays hard without the ball.Banks averaged 13.1 points, five rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals and was a 3A All-State honorable mention.
Avery Bryson, 6’2, 175, SG, 2021, Abilene
Bryson is an up-and-down playmaker who has a nice hesitation and could control. He looks to attack the basket and score high percentage shots off the glass and is good at using his frame to feel for space and can score through contact and even avoid contact using his fakes and hesitation. Bryson was a 4A All-State honorable mention last season who was both creative and efficient with the ball in his hands. An interesting player who should have a strong senior season.
Zephyn Mason, 6’0, PG, 2021, Holcomb
A 3A All-State honorable mention and an underrated performer in his class. He can break down defenses with his handle and can finish with either hand around the glass. Mason has good size for a guard and a nice combination of athleticism and bounce. He is a threat back and forth and can explode off his back foot and get inside the paint. One of the more underrated ball-handlers we’ve seen and also an impressive three-point shooter and shot blocker.
Devan McEwen, 6’1, SG, 2021, Lebo
A strong and athletic player who can finish around the basket with either hand. McEwen is an all-around playmaker who shows up on both ends of the floor given his athleticism and strength with the ball. He looks to defend multiple positions and can be physical and aggressive around the basket and on the perimeter. He is a confident score who gets buckets whenever he needs it then but shows an unselfish nature. Mcgoohan was a 1A second-team All-State performer.
Aiden Rudolph, 6’1, G, 2021, Clifton-Clyde
A1A All-State honorable mention who has the size, frame and overall physicality needed to play as a scoring guard or as a wing option. He is a good rebounder and passer and looks to set a tone with his defensive pressure. Rudolph is flexible on both ends of the floor and has good speed, good ball security and shows a good ceiling as an athlete.
